looking for reception place by water w/ big field...

my moh just got engaged and doesn't want a really fancy wedding- she just wants it in an open field under a tent - walkable to the water if not waterfront. any suggestions? thanks girls.

Try the riviera in massapequa. There is an outside area here youb can get married in front of a gazebo not tent but it is righ on the water and its very rustic looking iside not your typical wedding plce. give it a shot. good luck

I love the Riviera. There isn't really a field, but there is a nice gazebo area for pictures. The inside has more of a dining room feel to it than a catering hall. It's very nice.

Lands End has that....but its a hall...i thin you are looking for a site to have a tent and caterer...A few ladies here are renting houses in the hamptons...I think they might even advertise now too...

there is also the restaurant at Jones Beach and the Pavillion at Sunken Meadow

Timber Point is fairly inexpensive and on the water, there is also the Thatched Cottage in Centerport, but they don't have a big field.

Try Gansett Green manor in Amangansett, Ram's Head Inn on Shelter Island, Harrison House has a big field but not on the beach.

Coindre Hall in Huntington has a big open field (may be a bit hilly- can't remember) and it is a waterfront location...

The Bourne Mansion in Oakdale.

Sounds like what my sister wanted. Sunset Harbour, $75? in Patchogue has water, not much land that I remember. Her wed was at Chat. Le Mer, $75? in Lindenhurst. Very pretty. IF budget isn't a huge concern, try Lands End in Sayville, last check about $110/person. I put what I think the prices might be. Good luck!
