Looking for recommendations on a DJ & MC

Hi ladies! I am a 2012 Bride and would love to know who you selected to rock the party on your big day. I am looking for a DJ that can get a diverse crowd of about 80-100 people to 'shake it' on the dance floor.

FH and I are R&B, reggae, soca, and hip-hop fans. We also like our fair share of pop and top 40 music. Since our guest list is diverse we will want a DJ with a good range of music from Justin Bieber (my FH's son loves him) to Nicki Minaj to Bob Marley to the Drifters (my mom loves 50s classics). What will actually get played, who knows, but we would like to have options and work with someone who knows what is danceable.

We have a modest budget, so any info you can share regarding costs would be helpful. A few other questions:

* Do you need an MC?
* Did you go with preferred vendors or venture off on your own?
* So far I have heard that Tommy Tunes (thanks FutureWifey) and Body Rock are worth considering. Has anyone used them? What about Sound Connections?

I'm using Tommy's Tunes also.

I only saw 2 DJ's: Tommy's Tunes & LI Sound.

I went with Tommy's.

we are using In the Mix my sister used them for her wedding and i loved them i thought they were very diverse up on the new music as well as oldies!!

We are using FM entertainment with Frank (the owner) as our MC. They were very budget friendly and we got a lot with our package... they were actually the only DJ company we met with... absolutly loved them

FH is west Indian and he enjoys all of the soca and other island music. We are using Sound coneection, as diverse music was very important to us. they were the only dj company that didn't tell us to put fhs trini music on a cd and give it to them, they actually new the music well and had it in their song selection, which made FH really happy. Raphael is amazing!!!!!!!! They have a world dj derek that has a vast knowledge of music all over the world and he is great. They def are eay on the budget as well!!!! We're having Vibrations Entertainment. They're one of the best DJ's in Brooklyn considering how much competition there is in bk. They gave us a great package!

We are using Bravura!!! We loved them!!! They seemed very professional and heard great things about them.

When checked out Body Rock and they were too club scene for us. FH and I are not much into the clubs.

Thank you all for the fantastic leads!!! I have done my homework and narrowed down the list. FH has agreed to vet the contenders. Music is important to us both, so I know this is one task he will fully embrace. (He used to be a DJ in college with a radio show. Our basement is cluttered with at least 1000 CDs...He is definitely the man for this job!)
