Looking for some ideas

Looking for some ideas

Hi, I am new to the site and newly engaged. I am trying to plan an October 2009 wedding. I am looking for places in Suffolk that do only one wedding at a time to look at. So far we are going to check out Miller Place Inn, Giorgio's and Flowerfield. Does anybody have any other good places I could check out? I'm stumped! I dreamed of this day my entire life and the minute I get engaged I forget any ideas or places I ever thought to check out. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Congrats on your engagement and welcome!!

East Wind in wading river is BEAUTIFUL...they have options of one wedding at a time in certain building on their premises...They are beautiful but very expensive...

If your willing Nassau county Metropolitan is very nice!

I booked my wedding at East Wind and got a GREAT deal. Of course it depends on the time of year (I booked in March because of my budget) but you should check them out. Anywhere you go you are going to pay up because October is an expensive month to get married. East Wind is gorgeous and there are many options there.

Since you are asking about Suffolk have you checked out Lands End, Sunset Harbor (on the cheaper side but very pretty), and I am not sure but Villa Lombardis on the SOund may be one wedding at a time and you can rent a barge and do fireworks...I am so getting ahead of myself right now!

Check out the Three Village Inn and any of the Lessings properties - I have been to affairs at both and they were wonderful!

Congratulations!!!!!
Land's End is beautiful and they are catered by Lovin' Oven caterers (they also cater/own Flowerfield's). Awesome food, service, beautiful ballroom, beach and grounds, and attention to detail-guess that's why I picked it LOL!!! I'm not sure of your price range or what kind of venue you are looking for though (there are so many!!). Chateau La Mer (Lindenhurst), Windows on the Lake (Ronkonkoma) and the Crescent Beach Club (Bayville) all do only 1 wedding at a time also. FM me for more info if you want- we checked out these RHs before we chose LE. Good luck!!

East Wind isn't very expensive. I was quote at $79 pp for a Friday evening in the summer for the Country Garden.
That is actually the cheapest quote I have so far. The best advice I think I was given is not to rule out any of the places based solely on price since many will work with you if you are flexible with dates, times, days of the week etc. :)

Some mentioned Timber Point Mansion to me by Lessings. I am def checking that one out.

There are lots of them. But I just started and I am not sure which ones only have 1 wedding at time. I think that would be nice but that isnt my top priority so not sure. I can post more after i check out places :)

Good luck.

I say check out East WInd. They have 2 places that do one wedding at a time. Country Gardens is very charming, but I guess I am bias because that is where we got married. I think they are pretty reasonable in price. We got married on a Sat night in Sept. and paid 100PP that includes tax and gratuity. Granted we booked in 06. They are very negotiable with there pricing so definetly negotiate!!! There is also Majestic Gardens and I hear the Rock Hill is very nice as well. Miller place inn is very nice and then there is the Miller place surf club (I think that is what it is called). Well good luck in your search for the perfect place!!! It is out there!

Flowerfield is AMAZING! There was so much positive feedback from that hall from here and other wedding websites. That was our top hall, but FI and I needed something closer (we are in queens) and we have guests traveling from all over so it wouldn't be fair. I somewhat regret my decision though.

my BF got married at the smallest of the three buildings on the East Wind estate (not sure if it's called the country gardens) and she paid 161 pp after everything she wanted (nothing crazy or over the top) was thrown in.

Re: Looking for some ideas

I stalked the Brides Review part of this forum for a while when I first joined.

It really gives you a feel for the different places and Reception Halls.

It will give you ideas and help you decide which ones you want to visit.
