FH and I are clueless when it comes to tuxes. How does this work? Do I go with FH to get an idea of what we like and then he just tells his groomsmen what he liked and they go on their own or do they all go together? Im pretty sure when my sister got married they went on their own. Also, we are getting married July 31st so when should we start looking?

We just went on Tuesday and we are getting married on July 16th. Fh picked out what he wanted for himself for the groomsmen, fob, fog, and ring bearers and they put all of the information into a computer including names. They gave us a deadline for everybody to come in and get fitted, but we are telling the guys a little earlier than what they told us. We are using Men's Warehouse, so they can go to any Men's Warehouse to get fitted, it's more convenient especially for out of state people. I think they then pick up their tuxes 2 days before the wedding. HTH!

Not sure where you are going for tuxes, but basically as Mens Warehouse (for example) I believe you and Fh can just go in, you pick out the tux, the vest color, tie and whatever else you need to and then you let them know how many guys are in the WP. Then have FH tell the guys they need to go into Mens Warehouse to get measured for their tuxes and put down a deposit (I believe they can go to any MW to get measured and order - doesn't have to be the one FH went to). MW should provide you with some sort of Reference #.
As far as when you should go, you can always look around to see what you like ahead of time but I think going maybe 3 months before the wedding is enough time.

you can pick any tux place you want - - it doesn't have to be one that has stores near your wedding party members. They only need to go to any tux place in their town to get measured and send you these measurements. you give these to the rental place so they know what to order and when the wedding party gets in town they go for their fitting to your tux place.
