preferably a puppy or young dog (male). any recommendations besides petfinder (for adoption) or reputable local breeders? i called 1 breeder on LI (gaetacreek) and they quoted me $1300. we would LOVE to adopt but don't want to adopt an adult dog.
I just bought a (yellow) lab from a breeder in PA, I had to drive there to pick him up...they were Amish...the pups were really clean, and came with papers, the whole 9 yards, and I paid the low price of $500. He's only 7 weeks old now....so maybe there are more left. I went to www.greenfieldpuppies.com, and sent an inquiry. Then I got an email with the owners info, and I called and left a message with a service for her, (Amish-no phone), and then she got back to me. The website is kind of odd, it's like he compiles the site for private breeders, and they pay him a service charge. So the dogs are all over the place, but I didn't want to pay $$$$$$, but I wanted a pure bred. FM if you have any questions.
