looks like a section for me :(

Hi girls,
Still here with 9 days to go. We went to the Dr yesterday and it looks as though this child is stuck! Apparently his head is too big for my birth canal and he will be delivered via c-section next week. I was a little disappointed, but what can I do? All I want is my son out and healthy. I am schedules at 1pm next thursday 9/16. In the meantime, I am losing my plug and spotting and having small consistant contracions on my own. If my water breaks before next thursday they will section me earlier. I'm just keeping busy, I even went back to school yesterday(our kids don't come until Monday) and plan on going in to work until next Tues(crazy I know!!)
Well, wish me luck!!

Good luck! How can the dr. already be sure the head is too big? I thought the head is not engaged sometime until you are in labor.

Good luck, a c/s is really not the worst thing. Just make sure you have help for the first week or so that you are home.

Good Luck, youll do fine.

I had two csections and it was fine. Went into labor both times. Once before my schedule date had symptoms like you which is fine and the other he was stubborn and wouldnt flip and when he did I was in to much pain I told them to just give me the section at that point.

Don't worry yourself too much. I had a really good c-section experience. Just think, you don't have to go through all those labor pains.

In the end, all that matters is that you and your baby are HEALTHY. It doesn't matter how he/she gets here. Stay positive and good luck!

I will say that having a c/s was very emotionally difficult for me (still is). If you are not super happy about it, it is okay. You don't need to be. And I wanted to go into labor more than anything so if you feel you might be missing out on something that is also very normal.
Of course we all want a healthy baby so that is a given.
there is a c/s support board on Yahoo if you want the info, let me know.
I don't understand why the doctor is saying the head is too big? How does he know that? You may want to ask for a second opinion on that. It cannot hurt and it may give you more information.
Also- you should research the options during a c/s. I did not have my arms taped down. I would not allow it. Some people don't mind that. I did. I requested to breastfeed in the OR. There are things that you can ask for, but if you don't ask you might not get someone offering it to you.
Let me know if you have any questions or want any info. I wish you a wonderful birthday for your baby.

Re: looks like a section for me :(

I can tell you both times my water didnt break the docs had to do it for me. Each section I had was dif. the first one I ended up with an ammonia and was in the hospital for an extra week. Also, I had a broken hand so that would be my bad experience. The escond, was okay I was in good spirits. Had nothing to hold me down except I had no support to help me for the second one where I had plenty for the first. Plus I had a kid running around at the time.

But look at it this way no matter how you have your child. It will be healthy and that is all you want.

Besides you know there is a ton of support here
