Looks Like We lost a BM and a GM!
It's kind of my fault, but I'll try to explain:
So in the Greek wedding ceremony, there's a koumbara and a koumbaro (sp?). They play a role in the ceremony, pretty important.
We thought we were going to ask these close friends of ours, but the family started pressuring us to ask FH's cousin. Unfortunately, I had told our friends that they were our first choice and it was just a matter of officially asking them. Meanwhile, FH had a fight with the girl and they weren't on speaking terms over the holidays!
FH and I talked it over and we have a weird history with these two, we've stopped talking a few times for like a year or 2 at a time, sometimes less, but it still has happened a few times. We ultimately decided that we should appease the family and ask FH's cousin (whom i love btw).
FH's cousin is super ecstatic and, in turn, makes ME happy!
Oh another problem, the original girl is my Godmother.
So, I emailed the original couple explaining our decision and how it's family and even though we feel terrible, we'd still like them to be in our bridal party.
They say they are hurt by our decision and decline to be in the BP.
Oh well. I'm a little upset, but if that's what they want, then what can I do? I will send another email apologizing for the mess, but I think that's all i can do.
