Does anyone know where on Long Island I can buy loose leaf tea? We're thinking of using it for our favors, but i don't want to have to order it online. Also, anyone know where there are any health food stores left on LI? I'm thinking they might carry it.
TIA!

Try this:
http://www.adagio.com/
I went to a wedding where the bride & groom gave these as favors. They come in individual tin cans filled w/ tea. You could order it w/ a personalized monogram sticker.

If you don't want to go into chinatown, go to flushing, queens - Ten Ren is one option.

If you go near Plainview, check Fairway market. They have looseleaf tea
Or in Roosevelt Field Mall there is a store called Teavana that sells all loose leaf tea

Re: Loose Leaf Tea
There is a little tea shop in Huntington village that is EXCELLENT. It's called Tea & Tiques (as in antiques) - such a cute place and their tea is amazing. My favorite is the tibetian tiger - try it!!!

Re: Loose Leaf Tea
Personally, I like the shop in huntington better than teavana. I did not like the tea i bought from teavana and I felt that the staff was not very nice - almost 'snooty' about the tea. The woman who owns the shop in huntington is usually who you deal with, and she's super nice and willing to give samples and go over her menu with you. Not sure if customer service matters much you if you are just going there once, but I wanted to mention it.

Re: Loose Leaf Tea
actually, jboothin2008, i think it might matter. i'd love to get samples and be able to try the tea before buying POUNDS of it! And if the customer service is good, maybe it'll be cheaper if i buy a lot. Thanks again for all the info! LP
