Me too but because of my thyroid problem is the reason why I lose alot of my hair.
I just found out that I have a thyroid problem I've been on Synthroid for about 2 months. I wonder if this is why it's worse then usual?

Tracy, that is one of the major symptoms or signs of a thyroid problem.

Re: Losing Hair
I'm also on synthroid but it hasn't made me lose my hair any more than usual. I do lose A LOT, but I've noticed it's only when the season changes. It's weird. When it goes from hot to cold and then cold to hot! DH is NOT used to it, he already yelled at me!!! He thinks it's disgusting!
Misty - I have a hypothyroid - which means it's underactive. Some symptoms - hard time losing weight (since the thyroid regulates your metabolism), hair loss, fatigue... I'm not sure of other symptoms, lisa may know more.
Hyperthyroid - is overactive - skinny, sometimes eye bulging, goider... and more, I'll see if I can find some info.
Lauren has all the right symptoms. I have hypithryodism. I have a very very hard time losing weight, I lose my hair and I am always tired. My Dr can not seem to regulate my synthroid so that I am not that tired. I am on 125 mmg. u?

Re: Losing Hair
Don't be alarmed... it's very common... more common then we think.
When I was told, I was just starting to plan my wedding, I thought 'OMG, I can't believe I have to take something for the rest of my life', I thought only OLD people had to take special meds! I'll tell you the only PAIN IN THE A** is remembering to take them!
better for them to find out now!

Re: Losing Hair
Lisa,
I am on .116mg, .125 was too high for me... it took them about a year to get it right for me! I was so frustrated, every month I was going for blood tests. Now I just go every three months. I still don't think they have it right, but we'll see in 2 more months!
