Re: losing weight
Sounds like you are going to do well, just remember that soda, fast food, Chinese (basically any takeout) won't help you. Also, watch your portions, and make sure you eat breakfast and a lot of protein. Eating breakfast kickstarts your metabolism, and protein makes you feel full longer! Good luck!

Re: losing weight
Try to cut some carbs, stick with whole grains when you have them. Also, stop eating a few hours before bed. Drink lots of water and exercise!
You can do it!!! Good luck!

Re: losing weight
totally go with special k diet. i do that when i need to be fit and trim (my mom and sister are much smaller than me so when i want to borrow their clothes i do that diet for two weeks). i think you lose about 6 pounds in two weeks so if you do it for four weeks you are at 12 pounds! special k isn't delicious but it's good enough to guarantee that you'll lose the weight. good luck!

Re: losing weight
lots of water is key. fill your plate with protein and veggies!!!!
An egg white omlette with veggies & cheese, with whole wheat toast is VERY low in calories but will probably keep you full for half the day.

Re: losing weight
I've lost 17lbs from Jan. 2. I've been eating the following:
breakfast: flavored oatmeal w/ water OR Life cereal
Mid-morning snack: fruit or 100 calorie packets (Wheat Thins, Oreos, Fruit snacks)
Lunch: Sandwich on low-cal bread w/ Alpine lace swiss & low-fat turkey or ham OR Lean pocket or campbells' soup to go
Late afternoon snack: raw carrots, fruit or 100 calorie packet
Dinner: Lean Cuisine Meal or whole grain pasta, or Weaver chicken patty w/ cheese or chicken cutlets & broccoli
Late night snack: 1 point WW chocolates or WW ice pops
The key is drinking water all day (I mix mine w/ Crystal light) & also eating small meals all day long. I am NEVER hungry & its worked so well. Also I haven't done ANY working out yet (I'll rollerblade/walk once the weather gets nicer).
Good luck! 10 lbs is definitely doable.

Re: losing weight
I' ve lost 9 pounds since 1/10/06 by doing what you are doing. I also cut out refined flour and sugar - basically white pasta, white bread, white flour and all sweets.
Think about the drinks that you are having too. you would be surprised how many calories and how much sugar we consume in our drinks. Fruit Juice sounds nice and healthy, but it is loaded with sugar.

Re: losing weight
I have been using weight watchers and got Core Secrets fitness ball, the one with Gunner Peterson and Brooke Burns *at target for $40 but definately well worth it!!!!). It is great and helps with the abs. I've lost 13 pounds last month doing both!!!

Re: losing weight
Thanks so much. Well I do have to say I weighed myself the night we got back from 5 days in NH eating everything. I'm sure a lot of the weight may have been water. I was also a major sugar addict

Re: losing weight
Actually, 10 pounds is a very healthy goal - I have been heariong women say they want to lose 20-40 pounds by April! That is definitely do-able! If you stick to it - you may even lose a bit more... OR you may lose 5 pounds and lose a lot of inches - remember the muscle factr here - losing 5 pounds of fat and gaining 5 pounds of muscle looks better than just losing 10 pounds of fat!!!
Plus, it ups your metabolism!
Good luck! Keep us posted!

Re: losing weight
The key is WATER - don't have any more soda, juice, etc. Try to drink 1.5 Liter bottle of water a day. Just pushing yourself to drink the water you can lose 5 pounds. 10 pounds- you can definitely do it!!!!
