I have to lose 10 pounds for my wedding dress to fit the way I want it to. I want to lose at least 20. I am trying to get on a constant work out schedule. I used to be on Jenny Craig and it worked great, but I can't afford to keep buying the food.
Does anyone have any other suggestions? My first dress trial is end of January.
TIA,
Feeling Fat

Re: Losing Weight
Weight Watchers. Its the easiest diet there is- you can still eat what you have in your house and lose weight. It's all about moderation. I lost 55 lbs a year on it

Re: Losing Weight
Hi!
I would suggest eating 5 meals per day each high in protein, morning meals with good carbs and the rest with a small amount of good fats. Weight train 4-5 times weekly and cardio 5 times weekly!
If you want specifics let me know. This has really worked well for me...I have lost about 15 pounds and lots of inches while toning up!

Re: Losing Weight
Weight Watchers def helped me loose weight, its not hard at all and if you had 30 min cardio it will be more effective...

Re: Losing Weight
I am making this a long reply but I just have struggled with weight all my life and I kinda know what works for me and may work for you.
weight watchers I had lost 25-27 lbs for my wedding and I still had my a ton of bad weeks where I over ate so it took me longer to drop it off the most. BUT if you do follow the program and don't over use your points you will drop about 1-2lbs a week with limited extra activity. With extra activity you will drop 5lbs a week at a time sometimes more. My first week I lost 8lbs!
I am currently trying to drop the weight I have gained since the wedding (i put on 15lbs with in 7 months) In two weeks of ww and extra activity I dropped (i thought was 10 lbs) but now realized its 5.5 lbs BUT I am drop in inches, I go weight in on Monday to find out what this week brings.
Buy a tape measure also and track your inches - sometimes you may not drop the lbs on the scale but your inches will be less and that is really what matters on the dress.
Its really cruel though, my husband gained 30lbs since the wedding and in one week of not drinking and watching what he eats he lost 10 lbs with NO activity. I run 5-6 days a week now for a 45-60 mins per day and lost 3lbs one week and 2.5 another with diet - but as i said i lost in inches so i am pretty happy.

Re: Losing Weight
I third weight watchers; I've heard a lot of success stories & hope to try it myself.
If that is still an expenisve thing to do for you, just try eating more often of things like fruits and veggies, cutting out the junk food, and maybe walking and exercising a few days a week.

Re: Losing Weight
weight watchers. also cut out diet soda if you drink it. That helps take away cravings.

Re: Losing Weight
I second the 5 times a day meal thing.
I did this and lost 22 lbs in 6 months. Little by little but steady. Have only gained 5 since the wedding (I stopped counting calories) but still eat small portions.
try to consume no more than 1500 calories per day and work out at least 3-4 times per week 40 min to 1 hr.
Good luck
BTW weight watchers doesnt work for everyone. I did it for 3 months and lost nothing....
the diet soda thing is correct. I only drink diet soda and splenda reltated products, cut out regular sugar, regular mil (only do 2% and less), whole wheat products, lean meats like chicke, lean pork, lean turkey, very little rice and only brown rice, next to no bread, and tons of water
