I can totally relate to how you are feeling. I felt the same way when I got engaged last yr. I haven't been to many weddings and FH and I are the 1st to really have a big wedding in our families. I did lits of resarch online and this site has been a HUGE help! Don't be afraid to ask when u have questions. Everyone is helpful here.

I was in the same boat when I got engaged. I was only 21 and FH and I decided to wait because I was very overwhelmed and there was a huge lack of money at that point. This website has helped me beyond my expectations. And I'm literally the first in my family to get married within the last 15-20 years. This is a first for all of us

Welcome and congrats!!! It's def overwhelming. First you have to figure out a budget, than decide what kind of wedding you want to have - Big at a RH, or something more intimate restaurant, garden, park etc., or even something else.
Once you nail that down, start making appointments with venues- if you want some opinions or prices just ask on these boards I am sure we'd all be happy to help!

Also....if you plan to get married in your church / temple etc., that should really be the first thing you book. :)

This!! No matter how many weddings you go to you really still have no idea of what it entails until you plan your own. This website is a lifesaver.
Also google some wedding to-do lists and checklists, you don't have to do everything on them but it's a good way to stay organized and make sure you don't forget anything you might have wanted!

you guys are awesome. I'm just like freaking out because I have like 10 months to go and have like nothing done! I feel a bit better now. Book church or venue first?

I think it depends, if you have specific church in mind then I say book that first. If you are open then it probably doesnt matter. One thing - sometimes the church likes to be the first thing booked. I've heard a few people who have had some comments made to them by their church because they booked their venue first. Just a little warning lol.

Welcome!! This is a great site to start your wedding planning!! I would say book what is the most important to you first.I would say to start booking things asap because things are getting booked up already. You are getting married a week before me woohoo
