Re: Lost gift cards!
Most are just like cash - if you lose it, it's gone. However, if the person who purchased the gift card has the receipt, I think they can cancel the old one and reissue it. I know Home Depot does that.

Re: Lost gift cards!
We received a gift card from Pier 1 and didn't use it for a year. When we went to redeem it we were told that the card was reported lost/stolen by the person who gave it to us and one was reissued to them. They were friends of MIL and we didn't feel comfortable asking them about it so we lost out on the $$.
My advice would be to spend the card ASAP so you don't lose out like we did.

Re: Lost gift cards!
If it was a federated gift card (ie macys bloomies) and you have the reciept, the store may be able look it up in there system verify that has not been used, they will cancel it and re-issue a new one. We do it all the time in our store. If it was purchased with a store credit card they maybe able to trace it as well. But not if it is an outside credit card. Hope it turns up!!
