Has anyone ever lost thier voice so badly that there is actually NOTHING there except air??? I'm afraid that I might have actually damaged something. I'm terrifiied of doctors and kinda freaking out alittle- I'm hoping and praying that I wake up with at least some raspyness... THEN I have to go to work again... what bride wants to work with a consultant who has NO VOICE!?!?!? I'm gonna go cry now-

Re: Lost my voice...
that happened to me once, and i couldnt talk at all for a week, needless to say everybody around me was happy nothing was damaged though but go to the doc bc he can probably give you something to help get your voice back quicker.

Re: Lost my voice...
Rest your voice and gargle with warm water and salt... it happens to be at least once a year - not as severe as you are saying... but barely a squeak when I try

Re: Lost my voice...
i think you should give it a little time. we've all been so drunk before that we woke up with no voice and it didn't come back for days!!! i think time will fix it but i don't think there's anything to worry about!!!! GL!!!

Re: Lost my voice...
It has happened to me before with a really bad case of bronchitis. I couldn't talk for a week, had to write down everything to communicate with people.
So if you've been sick or with allergies, it could be bronchitis or laringitis (totally spelled that wrong).
You might want to go to the doctor to be sure....hope you feel better!
