I'm watching the news and there was a couple who was married in PA back in June. Turns out their photographer lost the memory card from his camera somewhere in NJ!!
A random person found it and loaded the pics onto his computer .. and once he realized he had someone's wedding pictures, he decided to try to figure out who they belonged to ..
Long story short, he created a 'lost wedding photos' facebook group and invited thousands of people from all over .. until someone finally just recognized the couple .. and they are living in Brooklyn!
What a crazy story!! .. I'm so happy they were able to get their pictures back!!
Can you imagine?!?!

OMG!! What an amazing story. I'm sooo happy this couple was able to find their wedding pictures. What a nice person it was who went out of their way to try and locate the cpl. But can you imagine if that was your photos?!?!?! I'd die! Did the story say how long it took for the couple to be found?

That's incredible! What a relief for the couple. This reminds me of a story I just recently heard, about a woman who lost her e-ring in a store, and months later some guy found it wedged somewhere. He researched, found it was from Tiffany, contacted Tiffany and eventually got it back to the owner. NUTS!

A friend of FH's used to be an AMAZING wedding photographer. He was doing so well and one day, he was taking pics of a wedding and damaged the camera, which damaged the memory card and ALL of the pictures were gone. Obviously he was fired on the spot. There was another photographer with him so some of the pics were salvaged, but a lot weren't.
I seriously don't know what I would do if this happened!

Omg that's crazy. So amazing of them to have gone through the trouble to try to help someone find their wedding photos! Truly amazing people!!
On a side note, this actually happened to one of my friends! Except they didn't find the pictures for them

It happens on (rare) occasion... and it's worth asking your photog about what they do if their camera gets damaged, if the mem card corrupts, and how they back up your photos. Lots of photogs bring more than one camera body... so if something happens to one, there's a backup to keep shooting. Some professional cameras write to two mem cards concurrently
