Lots of decisions made today!

We went to the final meeting today at Oheka. I was so impressed with the banquet manager and the baker. I was expecting for them to say 'no' to all of my requests, but they actually said yest to everything.

The baker brought out 7 different small cakes for us to try and take home with us. I think we decided on devil's food cake with a raspberry filling. The cake is going to have an outside chocolate fudge frosting.

The cake I picked from a magazine photo. I wish I had a picture of it on the computer. Do any of you guys? It is a chocolate cake in a hexoganal shape with sugared cherry blossoms scattered on it. The best part was that the baker said there was no extra charge for the cake design.

We also ended up getting the sushi chef and chocolate fountain thanks to you girls. They are going to pass around bellinis and cosmopolitans during the cocktail hour. The guests also get champagne and strawberries when they walk in to the castle. They were incredibly accomodating. For anyone considering getting married there, don't hesitate. The service is really impeccable. They baker spent over an hour with us and the banquet manager spent three hours with us.

Sounds wonderful. Oheka sounds like a wonderful place to get married.

I have my final meeting at Flowerfield on Sunday. I can't believe it's here already. If you have any pointers, please share. I have been going over their work sheets and my notes on what I want all night to make sure I cover everything.

We don't do any tasting at our final meeting. All of that is done before. I still need to get one more sample cake in (we want to try vanilla cake with white chocolate moose and fresh rasberries before we make our decision). But I picked out the cake design months ago. I just couldn't decide on the inside.

You could go crazy with all of the cake combos, but really it doesn't matter that much. We are having the dessert cafe so a lot of people probably won't even have the cake.

In terms of pointers, I just went through the hundred books and magazines I have bought during the last year and a half to see if there was anything that jogged my memory. I also made a list of questions to ask and brought a pad to write stuff down with.

I know. There are way too may combinations for the wedding cake. I get a little compulsive about things. We have a desert cart also. This is really for me. I want to enjoy my cake when I take my bite of it.

I really like rasberries, so I think that I also want to have a champagne passed with rasberries (and possibly chambord).
