lots of showers on a rainy Sunday!
It POURED today!!!!!!! I was almost positive that my shower was going to be today, and indeed I was correct! I have to upload my pics to facebook, but I have a few from my BM at the end of this.
It was held at Lambrou's in Island Park. Our family has so many of our parties there, and they are always great. Nick, the owner (or co-owner...I'm not sure) is the nicest guy, and so accommodating. We had rolls, salad, and a choice of chicken francese, sirloin, eggplant parm, or tilapia with almonds. I alwaysss get fish, so I decided to go with the eggplant parm. I thought the food was very good, but one of my BMs made a face when her chicken came. But everyone else seemed to enjoy it.
We had mimosas and bloody marys, but I was really nervous about opening gifts in front of everyone, so I went up to buy a shot before hand, and Nick gave me literally like a triple shot for free. My BP was AMAZING. We were so organized with getting through the gifts...there were about 80 gifts...and most people brought 2 or 3 gifts...but we got through everything in just over an hour.
My Matron of Honor bought awesome gifts for the Bridal Shower Bingo...a pasta themed basket, a movie night themed basket, a spa themed basket. They had little sheets with questions about me and Eric, a 'mailbox' with 'postcards' (blank postcards written like addressed to me & Eric) and everyone wrote little bits of love advice on them.
I was really not into the ribbon hat...however, one of my BMs made this RIDICULOUSLY amazing hat. It was like professionally craft, and she made a bouquet with a cat on it. Therefore, I wore it! She even made a little veil for the front of the hat.
The cake was very good...I believe it had cannoli filling, and it was served with ice cream. Honestly, I kinda shoved it down in between people taking pictures and people saying goodbye...but what I ate was good. Our delicious, delicious favors were from the Sugar Chic....sugar cookies in the shape of a light blue wedding cake.
Everything was amazing...I'm so happy. Everyone was SO, SO helpful, and I had a blast. My only complaint is that like 7 people did not show up... a few of them had actual reasons...but a couple basically just flaked. It annoys me so much that my parents had to pay for them, and they didn't bother to come or give a reason.
