You guys are so awesome and encouraging and I <3 u all... I posted on theknot about my 2nd wedding dress and and they are just nasty... I'm not sure what there is to be nasty about? I used to post there a lot and I ALWAYS got negative responses. Here everyone is so helpful and sweet and encouraging. Maybe it's a NY thing? We all understand each other cause we are all from 'NU YAWK!' lol
But yeah.. you guys all rock!

I find this a lot too on weddingbee forums.. People are just very nasty and negative. I guess because we come from such a diverse area, were just more understanding about everyone being different! Everyone on those boards thinks everyone should be a cookie-cutter bride. But guess what, everyone is different with different tastes and EVERYONE has feelings! Nasty biotches! Don't let them get you down ;)

It's definitely because we are from NEW YORK!!! And It might even be a Long Island thing ;) we are known for being the most elite diverse part of NY. I have received so much support on this website that I don't really read any other forum. Don't stress about people being negative. :)

Seriously... wth... I told them exactly the same thing I posted in my last post here about my 2nd dress n they picked apart EVERY little thing I said and were all about how horrible an idea each of the things i said would be. Umm... really?! I can't get over that! How about 'good luck' or 'that sounds nice'... I could never be so mean.. especially to people I don't even know. WHy make someone feel bad ya know? Ahhhhhhh thank GOD we are New Yorkers!!!!!!!!!!!!! XOXOXOXO

What annoys me is on the Wedding Bee they kind of shame you for having a budget over $10000. I can't help that I live in NY where the wedding budgets are higher than average. They made me feel bad about spending so much for one day instead of putting a down payment on a house or buying a car. Oh well :/

CAlbanese, YES!!!! OMG RIght???? ANytime I ever said anything on there about doing this and that, they all thought I was nuts. Everythingn I ever said on either Bee or theknot I was always made to feel shamed or retarded.
Yes, people have different personalities and are not all cookie cutter. And yes NYC average wedding is somewhere around $28,000 and not everyone has a family estate or backyard to be married in. That was my favorite.. when they made me feel like an idiot for being upset that I can't afford a wedding when I could easily get married in a family members backyard. Umm..... yeah... sorry I'm not that lucky to know anyone with a backyard big enough for more than 5 people. lol

Yeah the way I see it. I'm not going into debt to pay for the wedding we're saving for it and can afford it. Even if it is for one day I'll never look back and have any regrets or wish I had done something bigger. I've found a happy medium of having a dream wedding with a realistic budget.

I know what you mean! I never post on those forums, but only lurk, and I've noticed the ladies from the knot are the nastiest. I remember stumbling on a thread about honeymoon registries, and they picked apart some poor women trying to ask for info on it. Those ladies pride themselves on being true to wedding etiquette, but are really quite tasteless the way they put people they don't even know down.
This is by far my fav forum, since everyone here seem to be so supportive/non-judmental. :)

LOL that's exactly what I was going to say! When I read some of things posted on the weddingbee board I honestly almost didn't bother coming on here because I thought it'd be way worse! Everyone here is so nice though!
