They never told me that the combination meal was a substitute for 2!! AGH...just when I decided...
I wanted...filet, pork loin, combo (veal, chicken, sea bass)
can you choose which ever 3 you want on the combo? maybe I'll just change to the straight sea bass.
any opinions...what is everyone getting??

I liked the combo idea, but since it's only a choice of that and one other item, we're going with the sea bass, veal, and filet mignon. Filet mignon wasn't anything to die for, it's just a standard we wanted on the menu. I think we're getting the portabello napoleon thing before that. I forget the name of it already!

we're getting the duck, filet mignon and sea bass. The sea bass was so amazing, I wouldn't put it in the combo. I'd want more of that than anything else.
We made the lobster risotto purse into a combo appetizer.
02Bride...we are getting the portabello napoleon as well!!

We haven`t decided yet, but i think we are going with the filet, pork and sea bass. Still don`t know what we are doing for the combo course. We may even go with the salad and app instead. So many decisions!

I think I like the ravioli trio for the appetizer, even though we didn't get to taste it. We're going with the sea bass, filet mignon, and chicken. I agree with Lisa T that the filet was not anything special. We're actually paying for an upgrade to have whole steaks of filet mignon served rather than the sliced.
mzrs1220...that was what we originally thought we would have, but then 2 of my friends gave me a shocked 'You're not having Chicken!!??' and I got nervous...
danielleL...is that an option at all the lovin oven halls? Which one are you . I am not a meat eater...tell me why it is better that way...

I had both the ravioli trio and the whole filet had my reception, and both were outstanding! Coming from an Italian family, a pasta appiitizer was a MUST! : )
Yabbobay ~ the sliced filet gets cold faster than the individual filets, and in my opinion tasted better too, for some odd reason. : )

yeah, i think i will get a few of those comments also. so we are not 100% set on the pork. i know the older people will go for it, but don't know about the younger guests. still thinking it over....

We're having our reception at Land's End. It's not that the sliced filet was bad, it just didn't taste like filet mignon. So I asked one of the banquet managers about it and she explained that it's actually a whole roast of filet mignon, like more of a chateau briand. Then they just slice it up. So we're paying an extra $6 per person for the cuts of filet, individually cooked. I think it will taste better and we'll also get more food than with the sliced (I think they only gave us like 3 slices)
