Does anyone have info on the quality of food and the quantity that is served? Please distinguish btw the standard and the upgraded menus. I've herad the food tastes great but are the guests getting enough? My FH is concerned about it. Thanks!

Re: Lovin Oven Brides
I had my wedding at Flowerfield last month, I am still getting calls about the food. My guests were stuffed, and I did not upgrade the menu at all. The food is not standard wedding food, I loved it. There was plenty of it too!
I just checked out there website...and it does seem that the menu was changed...sorry to make any of you nervous...but there weren't any stations in oct...but it looks like there is now...
it should be wonderful!!!!
and the meal in itself is enough to blow the socks off your guests

Another Vanderbilt bride here. My wedding's in TWO WEEKS ! Had my tasting a while ago and the food was fantastic and huge portions. As other ladies have mentioned Vanderbilt has been constantly revamping their menu and have increased the cocktail menu with 2 stations so there will be plenty of food!

One other question?
I understand Lovin Oven also provides chocolate truffles to our guest when they leave, what do the truffles look like?? Are they substantial enough so thaot I don't need to look for oher favors? Can we customize the truffles they give us? ie. put a ribbon with our names, etc...
Thank again Ladies! I know I made the right decision for my reception site!

Re: Lovin Oven Brides
we had other favors in addition to the truffles. I can't tell you what they look like - I don't remember seeing them. We were too busy saying goodbye to folks
But I thought they were just on a tray and you take one as you leave...I don't know about customizing.

Re: Lovin Oven Brides
Another Vanderbilt bride in the making! I have a date in July 04 on hold. I too was concerned about the menu....so thanks for this post it is heloing to calm my nerves. And Yes....there is a new menu and CArolyn can forward you an attachment of it via email.
Question.....I am a serious bride on a budget and I am wonderring how good of a deal you were able to get booking a last minute date (if you don't mind sharing). If it is really substantial I am tempted to wait until maybe 6 months before and booking whatever date they have. Right now I can only manage a Sunday and maybe that way I could do a Sat. night.
Also did you find that there were quite a few dates for you to choose from (is it during the peak season)?

Re: Lovin Oven Brides
I honestly doubt you will be able to get a Saturday date if you wait til it's 6 months away. I was looking for Saturday night and couldn't get the date ANYWHERE. (Need to change my profile) Sunday was a lot more flexible. Everywhere I went, places were more flexible with their prices, and esp the gty. If you're happy with your date, it's worth the little extra for peace of mind. Saturdays book up 12+ months in advance.

To answer your question about the truffles you will have to call. I know Flowerfield puts them in a little gold box. I ordered little gold heart seals to make them look a little nicer - hellooooo free favors. To me that was more than enough for my guests. I'm giving them an amazing night out, great food, great company....plus a treat on their way out.
like Lisa, I didn't even realize the truffles were out...but I know they were there...but I didn't see them , b/c of our goodbyes...
as for getting a last min deal...i think it would have to be less than 3-4 months to get a deal...
I booked our day (sun) well over a year in advanced...10 months befroe I decided to see if they had a sat night...nope! I then asked if I could get the twilight sunday (only party the whole day)...nope...all booked...
so july...no...but nov-march you may have a better shot...
