Lovin Oven/Audreys?

Lovin Oven/Audreys?

ok gals...the cake hunt continues

i called a few places and they are all very expensive, around the 500 mark

I called Audreys today, and they told me 225 for a 2 tier, fondant custom Eparty Cake
and they will let me come in to taste some cakes before I order

does anyone have any opinions on this place? All I know is they are Land's End cake company, so they must be good right?

I haven't been on in a few days ...

You're looking for a cake for your eparty? And not a typical sheet cake?

Try Reinwald's in Huntington. They are my favorite bakery ever. I don't even live near there and I will go out of my way to get goodies from them!!! They do custom cakes. I was going to have them do a cake for my eparty, but my caterer had a baker they worked with, so I got from them. But anyways - it was like $130 for a cake for 50 people (I said less than what we had - 75-80 - because not everyone eats cake, esp with the other desserts being served). I wanted a red velvet with cream cheese filling cake shaped like a present covered in ganache with a big fondant bow on top!

Cambells did my wedding cake and Audreys did my grooms cake....and they were both very good but AUDREY'S BLEW Campbells away......

Like I said both were very good but I still dream about the cake from Audreys and their prices were so good.

That is a good price! We had our cake through them @ LE and it was delicious! I usually don't like cake either...It is a well known bakery in general outside the wedding business from what I've heard. They can also make you a 'mini cake' for tasting. They offered to do this for us with our actual wedding cake.

Congrats by the way and GL !

Ganache is that rich chocolate covering that looks smooth like fondant. Fondant is a sugar paste type of thing. IMHO chocolate is always better! LOL For obvious rasons, ganache is only dark dark brown, so that's why we did a present with a white bow! But I think it would also look amazing with a scroll or damask print.
