btw - I think the low centerpieces are really nice... my sister thinks that the big ones ' make the room' but some people hate them b/c you cant even see who's accross from you!

I think as long as the vases are thin it's fine. It's not like people are going to be yelling across the table to talk to each other anyway.

Re: Low Centerpieces - What do you think ??
Most of my family (aka: Wedding Planners) do not like the low centerpiece, for exactly that reason - the big ones 'make the room' - But i'm a minimalist. - and i don't like things that are big and overpowering - We're also having the reception @ the Watermill in the downstairs room - So I feel like unless the ceilings are VERY high- thos large centerpieces are overwhelming - but JMO

You're right - I think tall may be too much in that room.

I am having low centerpieces - I prefer them anyway! I'm thinking of having just summer flowers with lots of color and very bright. It's cheaper too

my take on tall vs. low is based on the ceiling height of the room. in general i think high ceilings require tall centerpieces and low celings, low ones - JMO

I like the low centerpieces and had them for my wedding. I couldnt see spending so much $$$ on the high ones, and I feel like they get in the way when you are talking to someone across the table.

I definitely agree with this...but still prefer low CP's to the high one's.
Go with what you want - it's your wedding, no one else's.

Re: Low Centerpieces - What do you think ??
I prefer low...I got low, long baskets from Michaels. My Mom and I decorated them and I am dropping them off at the florist so he can put potted violets in them. The violets will then be the favor!

I had exactly what you are talking about. A low centerpiece with 2 dozen roses, no greens. If I ever get a scanner I will post pics for you!!

First I am going to thank Julesn5 for putting a pic of her centerpiece in another post, and I am going to put it here so you can see it (I hope she doesnt mind). This is the one I am getting from Burtons only I am having all roses and my colors are ivory, pink and burgundy.
