Lowering the back of my wedding dress

The back of my wedding dress goes straight across. I want to have it lowered into a 'V'. Has anyone done this to their dress? If so, do you have before and after pictures?

I'm afraid of what it will do to the front of my dress. Will it sitll be nice and tight? I talked to a seamstress and she said she can't guarantee anything, but we can 'try' it. I don't want to 'try' it........I want to know if it will work!

i had the back of one of my dresses lowered and it didn't affect the front but it did affect the symmetry of the back b/c they also had to add ribbing. unfortunately dun have before and after pics tho....
