Luminaries?

Luminaries?

I ordered little tea lights (to avoid a fire ) and now need to get the bags to put them in. Will this work with regular white lunch bags or should I get special luminary bags?

Thanks

Don't quote me on this but I think you can use regular white lunch bags. Just make sure they aren't the shiny kind.

EDIT: by the way, what are you using the luminaries for?

Luminaries are candles in bags. They give a soft light. We use them to line Shea stadium when they have the cancer rally. It looks really beautiful. I was just wondering where she was going to put them. This is one exapmple

I'm watching Grey's anatomy online :)

Evelina - wow you scared me, that's what my parents call me when they're mad at me :)
You can call me Ev or Evelyn :)

Here's a pic of the luminaries. I want to do this on the path leading up to my outdoor ceremony.

we are lighting our luminaries outside my house the day of our wedding- my mom always puts them out during Christmas time. She used to use white bags, but now we have stone type ones, that are luminaries.

Re: Luminaries?

about a week or 2 before our wedding (March 24), I was in Dollar Tree, and they had wedding luminaries! They were white lunch bags, with designes cut out of them - either 2 bells, or doves, or hearts - there were a few different designs.

I ended up shelling out a whole $4 to buy 4 packs - I think there were 8 -12 per package!

popped in some sand and votives, then gave them to the Milleridge to line the circular drive, so it looked pretty when guests arrived.

I'm not sure if dollar tree still has them, but it can't hurt to look - they were pretty, and CHEAP!

good luck!

Sounds beautiful Ev! My parents always line their walkway during Christmastime using regular brown paper lunch bagluminaries, and sometimes my sisters get creative and put paper doilles on them for more effect. So, regular white lunch bags are totally fine!! They will look fabulous!
