Lurker clarification

So I totally missed what went on today but figured it out through reading some other posts.

So, anyone can just come on this site?!?! They don't have to register? Sorry, but that really creeps me out. I guess I thought even the lurkers had to at the very least register.

This is really scary. I hope it doesn't come up in a google search. I mean I know we all vent about a lot of things on here both wedding related and non wedding related. And these posts are meant for the people on here not scary lurkers.

I knda keep this site a secret. Only a select few know I am on it. I dont want anyone I know lurking and finding out my plans, my vents etc...

I also heard that if you put you SN in google search some post may come up. I tried and it didnt happen for me

ITA. That's why I never write anything on here that would make me feel uncomfortable if anyone I know read it. I keep pics on this site, but I just make sure that I don't write anything that is too personal or that I wouldn't want anyone to read.

don't wanna scare you more but, yeah, if you have the same username for the longggest time and people know about it (ex. everyone knows your 'iluvcandy') they can definitely google you...

i did a google search of myself just out of curiosity and it showed my posts on here...

that's also the reason why i dont tell anyone i'm here...

They could, but think about how you came across this website...most people found out about it because they were searching for info on a vendor.

If they made the site private then they'd be forced to charge us...the reason that vendors pay to be members of this site is because its great advertising...but if CS limits the # of girls who can see the info on here then the vendors lose money, then LIW loses money because the vendors don't want to pay them for crap advertising.
