Lying about wedding date for dresses - did anyone have to admit they lied?

Lying about wedding date for dresses - did anyone have to admit they lied?

Okay, last night I got a wee little surprise from my sister, who is my MOH (I'll give you a little hint, it may be a or a ! ), and she may need a bigger size dress.

The BM dresses are due in this month, and I think I may now have to admit that I lied about my wedding date (I'm pretty sure they know this already, I have 6 BMs who can't keep the date straight and I'm sure they read the boards as well, but I never expected to have to admit it) in order to rush in another gown for my sister. Has anyone had this happen? Do you think the salon would be upset that lied? Someone mentioned that they can add a panel, if necessary, but we're not sure how big she'll be by the time the wedding comes.

Anyway, I'm gonna be an Auntie!!!!

Congrats on being an auntie The bridal salon may get a little annoyed, but OH WELL! Your sister has to be comfy.

Thank you!

I also bought my gown there, I just wanted to make sure it would arrive in time, and I had a buffer in case something went wrong. I guess I can explain the situation to them when I call for my fittings.

Did you have to admit it to them? Or do plan on doing your alterations as if that was the real date?

Actually, my bridal salon lied to the place where they ordered the dresses from because they knew they take a long time. They said to them that my wedding is in June instead of August.

The way I see it, lying about your wedding date to bridal salons is such a common practice that they shouldn't be annoyed at all, they should expect it...and if they are annoyed then that's their problem.

Congratulations!!

Congratulations! Being an aunt is GREAT! Now... can't you tell your salon that you had to push your wedding back for some reason? Maybe relatives from out of country couldn't get here or something? Tell them you didn't think the pregnancy would be an issue, but now that you had to push the wedding back, it is? Just an idea...

Congrats again.
Honestly, I think all salons kind of know or even expect this so don't worry.

Plus - you are giving them plenty of $$$$ - poo poo on them if they get pissy.

Congrat on becoming an aunt!!!

I wouldn't worry too much, people don;t tell the right date for the wedding to bridal salons all the time. We forgot to for my sister's wedding and we almost didn't have the dresses in time, so it's good that you fibbed!

ok, I don't have anything helpful to offer... but why would you lie about when your wedding is? To make sure you get the dress in on time?

Yes, the particular dress I ordered, I was told it would take about 10 months from the manufacturer, and I was cutting it close, so I figured to give a buffer time in case something went wrong with the order or the manufacturer took longer to get dresses out etc.

Technically you are way behind because your weddign date says 1/1.. you should be married already

But on a serious note, I would lie... In Macy*s where I got my BM and my wedding dress they actually lied for me. They put my date early so the order was processed faster. My wedding gown came in last Nov.

I forgot to add congrats to your MOH
