So my mom thinks that when you go to a bridal salon, you should lie about the date of your wedding by a couple of weeks just in case they screw something up. At least that way you have 3-4 weeks to go somewhere else and buy a sample or DB, etc.
I would think that this is totally crazy except that it happened to my cousin with one of the ritzy salons in Great Neck (and she bought a $10K gown, mind you) and now my mom is paranoid that it will happen to me too.
Thoughts? I was thinking my wedding is 11/4/11, telling them that it's 10/8/11 instead?

Re: Lying about your wedding date?
I thought about doing this but I'm scared about tripping up and looking like an A$$. Probably would happen, I'm so bad at keeping my story straight

Re: Lying about your wedding date?
I lied about mine...
the store actually recommended it when they went to order it from the vendor. it's not a bad thing, do about a month-2 months before ur original date.

Re: Lying about your wedding date?
I don't see anything wrong with that except that I know personally my weight fluctuates A LOT so I'd want my fitting to be as close to my date as possible, peferabel closer to my date than a month out
But if that's not an issue for you, it's a god way to get a safety cushion, sure.

Lol I thought of that too. That's why I picked 10/8 b/c it's my sister's birthday. Easy date to remember!

Re: Lying about your wedding date?
My mom wants me to also! At first I didnt like the idea cause I heard they get mad if they find out, and I also want as long as possible to work on getting my weight down, but now I'm thinking I will lie by at least a couple of weeks.

Im thinking about calling next year and saying we moved the wedding up sooner.. I want to make sure they have it ready WELL in advance not just a few days before..

I Lied but only by a few weeks. And then the lady at the store put the wedding date down, a month before the fake date.
