Re: Lynbrook Bridal
Experience with the sales person was great - Carmela.
Experience with the seamstress - not so great and not sure I would recommend them, but then again, I think a lot of the shops are lacking in this area.
I have heard mixed things about Lybrook Bridal. Did you try Beautiful Bride on Merrick Rd., right around the corner from Lynbrook Bridal. I have had some good experiences there.

Re: Lynbrook Bridal
I've ordered my BM dresses from Lynbrook and have had a good experience with them so far. I've read one bad review - but that was because their dress zippers weren't done right, most likely the manufacturers fault...and one of my BM's went there for her SIL wedding BM dresses and had no problem and recommended them. I think wherever you go there might be an issue, personalities & otherwise....so you really gotta check these places out yourself. For instance, I went to Bridal Reflections in Massapequa and was really unhappy w/ the service I received and wouldn't recommend it - others have had fine experiences.

Re: Lynbrook Bridal
My BMs dresses are from Lynbrook bridal. So far they have been great with calling and letting me know when the dresses are in and i can call them at anytime to find out which one of my bridesmaids have not gone in for their dress fittings. No horror stories!!!

I love Carmela too, even though my dress came in wrong, I don't know if it's their mistake or the manufacturer's.
I am still debating whether or not to have their seamstresses work on my dress......

Re: Lynbrook Bridal
Used them for my prom, got dress it was the totaly wrong size and they lost the shawl that comes with it. Then to top things off the dress was ripped when I went for my final fitting, I mean that was 7 years ago but still id beware! They kept trying to charge me extra to fix the too big dress, and even to fix the rip they caused also.

Re: Lynbrook Bridal
My sister ordered her dress from there and the sales person was great but the seamstress was a little rude and nasty but the dress did come out beautiful. I went in there for my dress and was really dissatisfied again with the seamstress. I ended up going to another place. I think the other girls on here are right though, I think every place has some good and bad stories to tell.

I ordered my BM dresses from them - the price was good (Jim Hjelm dresses) but I know that the seamstress(es) were kind of rude to my Bm's!

Re: Lynbrook Bridal
The alterations cap at $50 meaning that even your BMs need alterations that would cost $75 they would only charge your BMs $50. I think that is the best part--they were the cheapest I could find.

That might be the cap on BM dresses, but certainly NOT for bridal gowns. My bustle was $75.00 and the cap for everything else was $150.
My dress was ordered in the correct size- was a little big on top and needed to be hemmed. Not major alterations, IMO. After fitting 4, the dress that was too big at first could now not even be zipped up. They did fix it, but still did not do what I thought was an excellent job and she ended up having to rip out the zipper and add fabric b/c it wasn't altered properly in the first place.
I also found the seamstress to be a bit obnoxious, she didn't really listen to me and when I tried the dress on and it wouldn't zip, she was saying, 'oh, it's fine.' I had to say 'are you kidding me? It is not even zipping up all the way!'

What was wrong with the dress?
When I ordered my dress, I SPECIFICALLY ordered extra length to my train, 18 inches. Well, when they called me to tell me my dress was in (less than 2 months after ordering) I went to see it and try it on. THe woman there, not Carmela, told me I couldn't try it on. I said 'Are you kidding me? It's my dress, I paid for it, and I am going to try it on, and if I want to wear it in the middle of Sunrise Highway, I will!!!'
So, she says I can see the dress, but she has to see if I can try it on. She brings my dress out and it's all wrapped up in the plastic. My mom opens it up and immediately knew the train wasn't longer than the sample I tried on.
NOW she wants me to try the dress on! What for, It's going back? But I wanted to try it on for the size.
So, they reordered it and I am still waiting.
I am still not sure if I want ot have them alter it. And there is no $50 cap on bridal dresses, it's more like $250.
