Lynbrook PD Police Report/Wedding Day Review

Original post by aliasPook

Well DAWNIE had her wedding on SUnday, and everything went as planned. This is a two part story, so if you want to read the Police Report info, just scroll to the bottom...no hard feelings, I know some of you are at work, I understand...

RH Dinner: Paparazzi

Food was great, service was great, price was great.

Make-up: Jacqueline Nicole

DAWNIE, my mother, and her BM looked so beautiful, that it brought tears to my eyes. The make up was so done to look natural, and I would highly recommend her to anyone. Price was very reasonable also...

Hair: S/B Ciro, but he had a massive heart attack three weeks before the wedding. Elena the Bridal Assistant came on such short notice, and she did a beautiful job.

She did my hair and make up, DAWNIE's hair, and her BM's hair who used and extension. If anyone is considering using one, as long as the color matches, go for it. It looked beautiful, and our hair stayed all day long. I am using her for my wedding.

Transportation: Designer Limos

Ok, let's just put it this way. If it weren't for Ramon, our limo driver, who stuck his had under the hood of my car to disconnect the alarm, we would never had made it to the ceremony. This is part of the whole Police Report. You'll read about it later on. But they deserve an A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Our limo bar was stocked up with with liquor, and I believe the only people who were not feeling it by the time we arrived at the reception were three flower girls. The arrived very early and drive past the house on there way to pick up teh guys playing 'HERE COMES THE BRIDE...' on teh horn. Of course at first we freaked out because they were an hour early, but when tehy continued on towards the grooms we felt better.

Reception: FLOWERFIELD

WOW...that's all I can say...If you are getting married there, you are very, very lucky. It was beautiful, the food was delicious, the waitress was by our side every minute refilling our drinks. The place was beautiful, the bridal suite was stocked up with drinks and food and I loved the Bridal Attendant...(I didn't get his name, but he was a doll...)

DJ: Tommy Tunes

At no point during teh evening was teh dance floor empty...

I really can't comment on teh gown, other than it was beautiful. One complaint was that I couldn't get that **** detatchable train to stay on and it began to detatch at the alter. I was grinding my teeth telling DAWNIE, 'DON'T move...' and I kept trying to fix it. Couldn't get that thing off her quick enough.

MENTAL NOTE TO SELF: NO DETACHABLE TRAIN FOR MY WEDDING...

Photography/Video: Imagine

Awwwwweeeeee, these people were so nice!!! The were not pushy at all, creative and they helped me put the film in my own camera (because I couldn't figure it out for myself, and the used my camera to get the pictures that I wanted to be in. How sweet was that? NOw I can have my own copies and not have to wait forever for her proofs. I will let you know how they turn out.

Ok, some stupid b*tch in the Bridal Party walked off with my lap top, my keys, $200 worth of CLinique make up still in boxes (my mother stocked up during the last free gift sale at Century 21), $100 worth of Revlon, Ultima II, Cover Girl and max Factor make up that I bought at Rite Aid for half off, my SHOWGIRLS video and one other video, $40-something in cash, my fathers text pager taht belongs to the FSBNY, and best of all, my wedding checkbook with teh VISA check card and a balance of $16,698.00...
Ok? DON'T TRUST ANYONE IN YOUR HOUSE. EVER!!! i HAVE BEEN CRYING SINCE 8:00 LAST NIGHT, I HAD TO HAVE MY FATHER DRIVE ME TO BAY RIDGE HONDA AND HAVE MY KEYS REMADE FOR MY CAR ($90), WE CHANGED TEH LOCKS ($103)...my Laptop had all my wedding info on it. My guest lists, $200 worth of software, work stuff, pictures, and receipts...

TRUST NO ONE! This was someone that we knew, that we let in to out home. I had the police here today making out the police report and he kept shaking his head in disbelief. I am sick from this whole thing, I call in to work...I bought a half gallon of ice cream after closing my bank account and it's almost gone already. I am so sad over this...These are people that my sister has known here whole life, and I feel dirty and distgusting and po'd that they would have the nerve to do something like this...
Al I am pointing out is that no matter how well you know people, you never REALLY know them...
Sorry for the babbling, I am just freaking out still...

Re: Lynbrook PD Police Report/Wedding Day Review

What about any of the vendors that were there, coiuld it have been them?

aliasPook Posted:

Re: Lynbrook PD Police Report/Wedding Day Review

No, I don't think it was the vendors. Neither were downstairs at anypoint. Well, I was able to get in touch with the detective today, and he is really a nice guy. He said that he and his Sgt. went to their house yesterday and they already knew her mother, so it wasnt too awkward. He started off by asking if she was aware that Katie frequently walks in the neighbors homes with out knocking, or being invited, and she apoligized and said yes, and that she has spoken to Katie about this numerous times. Then he asked if she ever comes homes with things taht don't belong to her, and she said that she never noticed anything strange. Phone rings, and it's the nurse at teh HS, Katie is having trouble breathing...so they cut the conversation short, and they have to come back now. Th emotehr was supposed to call today, but she didn't as of yet. He is going to be going away over teh weekend, and I have to call him on Tuesday. He said he'll call me earlier if he has any info for me. And he added that he won't stop until he gets to the bottom of this. YAY!!!! I am happier today than I was yesterday.

If the case is closed how can they prosecute her?

aliasPook Posted:

Re: Lynbrook PD Police Report/Wedding Day Review

Nope, the JD guy had them reopen the investigation.
He said that we had enough info about Katie to make them think she was involved, so he spoke to his Sgt. and they agreed to pursue. He thinks it's definately her, even from just speaking to her mother.

Re: Lynbrook PD Police Report/Wedding Day Review

Think about it this way - by pursuing this you might be getting her the help and attention she needs so that she can grow up to be more well balanced.

You are not doing anything wrong!!

First, I am glad the case is reopened so that parhaps justice will be served.

Second, I agree with Lisa. You are the victim here and shouldn't feel bad.

I hope the police get to the bottom of this soon

OH MY GOD, THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO US!

I just came upon this post today.

My sister and I had a VERY similar experience with this about 13 years ago. There was a girl that my sister talked to in school, named Jennifer. She came from a very messed up family. Her father abused her and her brothers, the mother was gone, they had no money, supervision, etc. Ok. So we all felt sorry for her. Well one day, I was working as a bookkeeper in a grocery store and she comes in and we were talking. She says how she is having money trouble, etc. So I told her I could get her a job. I had her fill out an application, I talked to my supervisor, etc. They were going to call her. Anyway, so she leaves and tells me she is going to my house to hang out with my sister. So I told her I would see her later. Well, 5:00 comes and its time for me to go home. So my sister has been hanging out with her all day and to be nice she wanted her to go home (this girl had a tendency to complain, etc.). So my sister told her that our family was going out to dinner so she would be forced to go home. Really my parents were just coming to pick me up from work. So everyone goes to leave. My Dad was taking her home, I think. While my Dad is backing out of the driveway, she goes, oh I forgot my pocketbook. So my Dad gives her the keys to go back in and get it (Stupid, someone should have went in with her but who knew). She goes in and must have unlocked the side door. So she comes back out and they leave. They drop her off and then come to pick me up from work. Well she somehow managed to get back to our house and rob us (but she had help as well we think). Their is no way she walked to our house and she was too young to drive. She must have had a boyfriend who drove and he came and got her immediately after they had drove off. She thought we would be gone a while going out to dinner, right?? :)) Ok, now its wierd that I rememberd this but it was something that I didn't pay too much attention to at the time. When we got home, I remember coming in the house and hearing the side door slam. I didn't really think about it to after everything and then it hit me. So we all come in and my Mom starts cooking dinner. Karen and I are planning on going out that night and we were talking to friends on the phone. I go take a shower, I am getting dressed, etc. We are all fighting and laughing and playing around with each other. Typical family stuff. So I am getting ready to leave and I swing my closet door open (I kept my demim jacket on the door) and it opened very fast and felt very light. So I am like what? I guess subconsciously I knew that that door is heavier. So I am like, what? So I look and notice my coat's gone. So guess who gets the wrath? My poor sister. Now we are really fighting. You took my demim jacket without asking?????!!!#@#@$#@I$ Ok, so my Mom is screaming that I must have misplaced it. Karen is screaming she didn't do it. Ok. So whatever. I open my jewelry box to put on my gold nameplate (you girls remember those days don't ya? :)) and guess what? ITS GONE. So now I am freaking out, Mom she took my nameplate and my rings! So my Mom comes in and now she is starting to look worried. She has my dad go upstairs and check their room (they always had a lock on their bedroom door) and it is broken. My Dad runs downstairs and says its broken. Ok, so my sister now runs to her room. And she finds stuff missing (don't remember now what). Ok so we had a robber, so my parents call the police. So now while we are waiting for the police. My mom is saying, I know it was Jennifer. Karen and I are crying, no Jennifer would never do that Mom she is our friend. Ok. So the cops come. And they are taking a report. So me and one of the cops are sitting on my bed and they were so cool. They were teaching me about taking fingerprints, and they were looking at my window next to my bed, we were talking. One was standing in my bedroom door way. Well he must have been looking under my bed and saw a shoe move! :) I am sorry I am laughing now but 13 years later, I can finally laugh. So he goes, Denise do you keep shoes under your bed. And I am like no. [I always kept my shoes in my closet in those shoe things that hang!] Ok. So he goes, 'GET OUT OF THE HOUSE NOW!' Well my Mother, knocked me and Karen over and took off. Nice, right. Save your own neck! Me and Karen follow her and we run to the house across the street. We are all now hysterical because a bad man is under my bed, right. Well about 5 minutes later, my Dad comes out almost crying. He calls me over. My Mom and sis stay across the street. So I cross the street and I am like oh no, it was one of my friends. He goes come inside and see how is under your bed.!! Well guess who????

JENNIFER

So I go lunging at her. Cops had to hold me back. Her shirt was up, bra was showing (what a pig), they had her in handcuffs. She was crying saying she came back because she forgot something (after we took her home) and heard a noise and ran under the bed. Meanwhile all the jewelry, my coat, etc. was next to her under the bed. Whoever was with her got out with nothing. So nothing was missing! That must have been the door I heard slam. Anyway so they took her in and my parents felt to sorry for her to press charges. But my sister and I had to see her every day at school and what a nightmare that was. All the other kids playing one against the other (she said this and she said that). It almost came to blows. Although I tried to forgive her it was hard. Anyway, I still see her around once in a while and she has a few scrubby looking kids. She hasn't changed poor girl. Anyway the moral of my story is, it usually is who you first suspect. I am going with the Katie chick. And I am sure she did have help and came back after you were gone. While in the house she did something to enable her access back in after you were gone. When I was reading this thread, I was amazed at the similarities and the scenarios people were creating that sounded just like what happened to us. Good luck in finding out who did this.

Re: OH MY GOD, THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO US!

Whoa. That is crazy... I feel a little better though to know that this stuff does happen to people other than me. SORRY! That is sick though...Another thing that upsets me is one of teh detectives says well you should lock your screen door... HELLO!!!!!!!!!!!! SInce when is is a crime to leave your door open? Does it give anyone the right to walk right in to my home? The door is closed, but not locked...I said that to him, and he is like know, but teh way things are today, you really should be locking your door. No, not for teh amount of money that my house is worth, or teh taxes we pay or the moral value of it all. Since when is it my fault that I am robbed? I only got mad AFTER he left, I with I really considered it while he was there. I would have asked him to explain to me that i am teh one who deserved it. Also, we are home, it's not liek we leave it open when we go out...
