Malverne is a great neighborhood, it is an adorable incorporated village. If you buy in Malverne you would want district 13 wich is cvalley stream school district not the Malverne/lakeview which is distrct 12. I am not too sure about the lynbrook schools but Lynbrook is also adorable and a nice place to live.

I like in Franklin Square which is right next to Malverne. The section that is off of Cornwell Ave. is a wonderful part. No crime or shady parts at all. Like the above poster said...buy in Valley Steam North school district. That is a wonderful school district. Good luck!

Lynbrook school is excellent. Half of the houses in Lynbrook are Lynbrook school district and the other half are Malverne.
East Rockaway (right next to Lynbrook) also has some houses in the Lynbrook school district.

You forgot that there are 3 parts of Lynbrook.

There is Malvernes School District.

There is Lynbrooks School District

And there is Valley Stream School District 24. I lived in Lynbrook for 33 years of my life with my parents. They just sold the house in July. The area my parents lived in was called the Yorkshires. The area is located between Rockaway ave and Sunrise Hwy, And Peninsula Blvd and Horton road. It is a very quiet, very family orientated area. I loved living there. The one thing my family didnt like about Lynbrook was the high taxes and high village taxes, oh and a second thing. You cannot park in the street between 3 and 5 am. That is really annoying too. Other than that, Lynbrook is a nice area.

We live in Lynbrook and we love it. We are in Lynbrook schools. Lynbrook is a great town.

I grew up in neighboring East Rockaway. Lynbrook is very nice, but you want to be in the Lynbrook School District #20. You can live in Lynbrook and be in other school districts, so that may factor into your decision. Malverne is a very cute town, but the HS leaves a lot to be desired (my uncle is a teacher there too!).
