So I've always been a fan of MAC makeup, and I want them to do my day of makeup, how do I find out if they can come to the hotel to do everyone's or whoever wants theirs done, etc.. the cost? Do I just go to a MAC and ask of the artists? I need to go there this weekend to buy a new foundation, and I was THINKING to have a 'trial' done next weekend because we have a Surprise 30th birthday party to go to?
ANY INPUT IS WELCOME =)

Re: M*A*C
My friend goes to the M*A*C in the Macys in Manhasset a lot. She got her m.u. done by a few diff artists there and asked around if anyone does freelance m.u. on the side. One of the girls she likes happens to do m.u. on the side so she got her business card and used her for a wedding. So I guess maybe ask if anyone you like freelances?

Re: M*A*C
We used MAC for my sister's wedding. I also did a trial in August for out e-pics. I wasn't crazy about them for the e-pic. My sister pointed out the my lip gloss was a little but over my lip. (it was windy and my hair got stuck to my lip gloss and when I moved it the gloss went over my lip) When I went to remove the gloss spot it took off ALL the make-up in that area so I was a little disappointed.
BUT to answer your question... Go to MAC if you have a particular artist you like I suggest you make an appointment to go see her. They typically work independently when it comes to weddings and events outside the store. And most of them will travel to you. You will have to chat with the artist when you go to see what she is willing to do for you. But I have found them to be very flexible.

Re: M*A*C
Lol I was just reading about this in a bridal magazine yesterday. Their tips:
Check out the make up artists working on other women. Pick one that seems friendly, competent, approachable. Wait for her.
Get a make up trial in the store, see if you like how she works and the end result. If you do, inquire about her freelance work outside of the store. It helps to buy a couple of the products she used on you.
If you don't like result you have no obligation to buy.

I work in retail and technically it is a totally free service. The people at counters in department stores are actually trained by the vendor, so your MAC counter at bloomingdale's will have MAC trained artists.
I went to the Armani counter and asked about it, and she said she's more than willing to do weddings. Worth a shot!

I guess maybe the MAC store charges? I've had department stores and sephoras do my makeup for free and i only bought something if i liked how it looked.

Re: M*A*C
A lot of the LIW makeup artists/vendors use Mac makeup. I used Andrea at Lolalovesmakeup for my wedding and she used Mac on me. Hope that helps.

Re: M*A*C
Just a tip because I went to MAC for a trial...make an appt esp if it's on a Saturday. Tell them its for a wedding trial and you are looking for someone who can do your makeup on the day of to do the trial. BTW: I loved my trial but she (MAC artist) was very expensive- $275 for the bride for her to come to you- and I chose Oksana instead
