MAC artists near Long Beach?

Hi ladies,

I live in Brooklyn and am getting married in Long Beach. I really would like to do a trial with a MAC artist but Im not that familiar with LI and im not sure which mall or location to start with. Any suggestions?

Would love to see pics of other girls that have done MAC makeup trials and recommendations.

Why does it have to be MAC??? There are many make-up artists on LI that you can use but they arent from MAC. Are you just pushing the product on here????

Wow. I asked about MAC because I prefer the MAC makeup style. I am not pushing anyone's products. The makeup for my engagement shoot was done by a MAC artist - unfortunately she is in LA or i would hire her.

Hey! Noticed you're a newbie - first and foremost welcome to LIW this is such an amazing resource for long island brides. As for the accusation dont mind that - sometimes brides can get testy bc of fake brides i.e vendors posing as brides to push their services or a new term I just learned of 'lurkers' who spy on activity - dont let this scare ya though usually Client services will catch on.
Geez...that was a little harsh regarding the product push... but perhaps she was trying to see if you were open to other options bc a lot of makeup artists happen to have MAC products but I get where you're coming from, a lot of girls love MAC and what's not to love - best to go with the tried and true!! I myself wound up booking a MAC girl and I wasn't even looking for one -anywaze- I dont know much about island geography (I **** at direcions unless mapquest or a GPS is involved) but I personally booked with Andrea from Lola Loves Makeup. She is located in huntington but will travel to you on the day of the wedding and she is located in huntington (you have to go to her for the trial) She is very reasonably priced -$35 for trial and $125 on the day of and amazing work!! I was running late on the date of our trial so I didn't get to take a picture but I can ask her to send me the one she took and I'd be happy to share- just send me an FM to remind me & if you need any help with vendors feel free to FM me as well; I'm always happy to help and so are the majority of brides on here. THANK YOU so so much for the warm welcome. Its really appreciated. I have been reading the boards of LI Weddings since i got engaged last year but decided to chime in now as its less than four months until my wedding and i am on planning overload. I need backup! lol!

And thank you so much for the recommendation! I am actually already in touch with Andrea who seem fantastic. I just have to see if i can make her minimum amt of people for day-of.

I totally agree it was a bit harsh. We do get alot of vendors on here pretending to be brides so we are always on guard. I did a trial with Jae richardson. She uses all MAC and will travel to you for the trial. She charges $60 or $65 for the trial and i believe that includes lashes if you want. If you FM your email address i can send you her price list. She just sent it to me this morning

Stacy with About Face Artistry used to be a MAC makeup artist (i think). Now she has her own business and uses a lot of MAC products. She's really great!

ETA: She will travel to you; she came to me in Brooklyn for my trial and will be at my RH (on LI) on my wedding day where i will be getting ready.

Hahaha I highly doubt you're selling MAC products. She's like the 10th bride in 2 weeks to ask this question, why'd you only jump down her throat?!

Anyway, Sandra Baldini uses only MAC make-up. I know I'm dying to do a trial with her!!!

No no Sorry we have had plenty of those & since you are kinda a new poster i thought maybe it was a little suspicious. Sorry : )

Im not sure about MAC (im from LB) itself but why not try going to Roosevelt Field Mall go to MAC counter & tell them what you need alot of those girls do weddings on the side. Just a thought. My Make-up artist is also from Lido but she is a personal friend she does make-up for the emmy's MTV awards etc. She doesnt use MAC she uses Laura Mercier tho. HTH
