I'm interested in knowing this too. I'm planning on buying Mac makeup on the day of my e-pics and having them give me a trial.

Re: MAC Trial
I had a MAC makeup trial and I had to buy 4 products (including the lashes they used on me--BE SURE TO ASK IF THEY CHARGE YOU FOR LASHES DURING THE TRIAL!!)
I did NOT leave a tip though because the woman didn't tell me I was being charged for the lashes and just led me to believe I still needed to buy 4 other products.
I think you should only leave a tip if you like the service.

I went to bayshore mall and got my makeup done by Jenn Zuba. She was awesome. I highly recommend her. Let me know if you need more info!

Re: MAC Trial
i have gotten two mac trials and loved each one! I got them done at Macys in Green Acres Mall. You have to buy $50 worth of products but I think thats a pretty good deal, getting your make up done and products for $50 , and the first time the artist didnt even make me purchase $50 worth , each time I left a small tip

Re: MAC Trial
I left a tip. And make sure you find out what their policy for buying makeup is. Some MAC counters say you have to buy $50 worth of product and some say you have to buy 4 items. I went to the Pro Store in Smithaven Mall and I had to buy 4 products.

Do you know if they have a standard rate for day of make-up or is it per artist?
TIA

Re: MAC Trial
A woman named Andrea freelances for MAC she does free trials out of her home. Her contact info is:
Hey I work for MAC so I can give you some insight.
Tipping is not expected, if you want to, great, if not don't worry about it.
Lashes-you will always have to purchase b/c there's no 'tester lashes'. Yes they're pricey ($12) so make sure the artist shows you all the styles (we have a ton to choose from).
FM me if you have more questions.

Re: MAC Trial
I had a trial at MAC in Bloomingdales in NYC and she said I didn't have to buy a thing. I did give her a nice tip though. I made an appointment. She did a really great job!

I work across the street from the 59th st bloomies and wanted to go there to get my makeup done for my epics. do you remember the name of the girl you used there and did you make an appointment for your trial?

Re: MAC Trial
Her name is Starr. She's very very made up if she's there u will know who she is. I really liked her...I was nervous at first because her makeup was so out there but i brought in some photos and told her what I wanted and she did exactly that. Some of the other makeup people there even watched her to learn some of her tricks.
And yes I did make an appt, I think 11am is the earliest they do. She happened to be available that day/time.

Re: MAC Trial
I actually had this done for my E-Party... I was running so late I forgot to tip her, I felt soooo bad afterwards....
I also was able to return the products a few weeks later, I just told them I didnt have a trial... I was in such a rush picking the stuff out, I didnt like anything I bought.

They don't get paid much, when you buy products they make a very very small amount from it. I gave her $30 which I don't think is much to do makeup. It would have cost me more then that to buy 2 products she used.
