Re: mac users. please help
I'm strictly a Mac user, but I don't know about routers. Did you purchase the AppleCare package that's like an extended warranty with the computer? If you did, you may be able to call the 800 number, give them the serial # for your computer, and they'll be able to advise you on what router to buy. If you didn't, I'd recommend investing the money for it, because even though Macs are fantastic, every so often something can go wrong and at least you'll be covered. My laptop had an internal problem that appeared about a month after I bought it. The cost would've been $1000 to fix the motherboard, but b/c it was under the warranty, it was covered in full.
If AppleCare doesn't work, you can go to the Apple store in the Roosevelt Field mall and sign up for help at the 'Genius' desk. It's a first-come first-serve help desk with Mac technicians who really know what they're talking about. Tell them the computer is brand new, not in need of repair, but you have questions on what external items will be compatible. Tell them you are converting from PC users to Mac users... they'll be more than happy to help.... us 'mac people' stick together LOL!
If you have any questions on how to work the Mac, keyboard shortcuts, software help, let me know. I'll try to help!
PS.... If either you or FH is a teacher, there is an educational discount on Apple products by showing a copy of your paystub or teacher ID.
