Macys

I just went onto my macy's registry to add an item and there prices are double what they were two weeks ago.

My bar glass set went up to $100.00 and my roaster went from $50 to $199!

Anyone else experience this. I am tempted to move whatever items I can to my bedbath and beyond registry

Re: Macys

When i was there registering the other day there was a woman complaining about this... apparently Macy's tends to have 3 different prices: full price, sale and super sale... you probably registered for those items when they were on sale, and they probably went up to full price...(example, when luggage is on sale it is 50% off... so you register for a $200 bag, then whenit goes back to full price it goes to $400) the sales lady said that once a sale ends an item cant go back on sale for 48 hours... so hopefully your guests know to wait until the item is on sale to purchase it... some people double register for things, that way a guest has a choice where to buy it... What i was thinking of doing is if a guest buys us something on our registry that was full price (and way too much $$) we will probably return it, get the credit and then rebuy it on sale... that way we get the most for our money... i dont know how realistic that is though... but i will definately spread the word about our registry that they shouldnt pay full price for some of those items...

hope this helps and explains some things!!

Re: Macys

This just happened to me. I moved my Lenox China to Bed Bath and Beyond because it was $129 at Macy's (when i registered it was $89) and $89 at BBB. I have written them 3 emails to far. This was their last response:

Dear ,

Thank you for your recent e-mail. We appreciate you taking the time to
contact us.

Please be advised, merchandise offered online will usually be priced the
same as merchandise offered in the Federated Department Stores and
Bloomingdale's Stores. However, each store may have different prices or
promotional events at different times.

Please note that prices we offer online changes everyday as we offer
'everyday low price' for our customers. We don't use promotions or sale
prices. This is the reason why sometimes you see that a price of a
merchandise online is higher than of a store because stores offer
promotional events every once in awhile. Our commitment is to offer
convenience, service and product availability online at competitive
prices every day.

If you have any further questions, please e-mail us at
[email protected] or call us at 1-888-989-9333. Our office
hours are Monday through Saturday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Sunday 11:00 AM
to 7:00 PM.

Sincerely,

Bernie Bancod

I responded with a listing of competitors and their prices, including Lenox and they are all cheaper then Macys.
