Re: Macy's Registry
Roosevelt probably will have a decently large selection of stuff, but I wouldnt go on a weekend b/c it can get pretty crazy there.

Re: Macy's Registry
I registered at the one in Manhasset and I had a wonderful experience; the woman there (I forget her name) took so much time with us explaining everything; after we picked our china she set a table with a place setting so we could pick our crystal and flatware and see how it all looked together. I went back recently to update some things and they were just as helpful then. They also have a really large selection there in their bridal department (the best I've seen in any Macy's). I would definately recommend them!

Re: Macy's Registry
I registered at the one in Roosevelt field, and I was actually a little disappointed with the service. The girl seemed completely and utterly confused and disoriented. I needed a lot of help (I've never registered before... help me out!) and she really didn't know what was going on. She said to go ahead and start and she'd come and check up on us in a few minutes. She never did. I had a feeling we just got stuck with a newbie or something though. There seemed to be some other, older ladies there who knew what they were talking about.
I felt like I needed a 'mom' type to help me register... someone who knows what you need, has run a household and knows what people do in terms of etiquette and buying habits for weddings. This girl was like straight out of high school!

Re: Macy's Registry
I registered at macys at roosevelt field and had a great experience with Arleen. And all the other 'older' ladies are great, too. There's a new young person there who really doesn't know what she's doing...stay away from her if you can.
I went to the Manhasset macys the other week to look at something, and no one was at the bridal registry because of a family emergency. Apparently there's only person in the registry dept there, whereas at roosevelt field there are at least 3 at any given time.
i say go to RF and avoid the young newbie.

Re: Macy's Registry
DO NOT go to sunrise mall!! I went on Saturday and half the stuff I wanted to look at, they didn't have. Gotta go to roosevelt now, which is where I wanted to go in the first place, but i went with my mom and she hates that mall, so we went to sunrise I may go to smith haven actually, I heard they have a huge dept. for home stuff.

Re: Macy's Registry
I live in brooklyn, and actually traveled to Walt Whitman mall to register. Call me crazy, but I like getting out of the city to shop -- its just so busy in the Macy's in the city, and so empty and calm and clean in the Walt Whitman Mall. And the EAst buffet is accross the street -- I love that place.

Mmmmmm East Buffet ... that place rules. I live in Huntington, only been there once.
What's the Walt Whitman Macy's like for registering?

I went to the one in Roosevelt Field mall since it was closest to me- I hate the one in Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream though.

I didn't register there but they have a pretty big home selection. That is where we orginially found our every day dishes.

I prefer the one in Manhasett or the one on 34th St. in Manhanttan.
