Just letting everyone know..I just called macys herald sq for the ring appraisal hrs..Women said that they are open Mon-Sat 10-5 Only thursday late day they close at 6:45. The cost is 1% of ring appraised under 10,000/ I thinks its more after 10,000. They r on the 9th fl

Just be really careful who you give your ring to. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES let your ring out of your sight. I good jeweler/appraiser knows not to do this. Go to someone you trust. I've heard horror stories of diamond switching and I would hate to see any of you go through this.

Macy's only on 34th st does appraisals.
The ring never leaves your site. You go to the 9th fl and sit in the womans office. She takes you in the back, cleans it in front of you, then you go right back to her desk & she did everthing right in front ot me & DH

never hear of it being a % of the appraisal... my place charges depending on the center stone size... id be a little worried that theyre inflating the appraisal to charge more..
