I registered at both Macys and Bed Bath and Beyond, but im getting the feeling people would rather shop at macys...what are the pros vs cons between the two?

Re: Macy's vs. BBB
funny - i assumed most people would want to shop at bbb so i moved more stuff there instead. macys is great bc you get cash back on the stuff purchsed off your registry if you have a macys card. there arent many perks at bbb - except for the registry incentives but macys has those too

Re: Macy's vs. BBB
I have both as well. Macys has frequent sales, brand names, incentives for completing your registry and registry point perks. But BBB is just as popular...I see that both of mine are neck and neck.

I only registered at BBB and my guests loved that. Plus, those 20% coupons don't hurt

Question: What if you don't have a macy's card?

Re: Macy's vs. BBB
you should apply for one! they offered it to us when we started our registry. so smart to have it! cash back is always a good thing!!! and i think after the wedding they give you a % off to purchase what hasnt been bought. and when you use your card, more cash back.
i dont know how to divide my registry up either. i put alot of the appliances/kitchen stuff at bbb. the macys stuff has the nice linens, towels, fine china, etc.

Re: Macy's vs. BBB
We only registered at Macy's b/c we shop there more often and figured it was more convenient for our families/friends. Plus, the perks were pretty good. I received 20% off my wedding band from there b/c of our registry and we earn a percentage back from each gift purchased, which gets sent to us on a gift card.

Re: Macy's vs. BBB
I only registered at BBB, but still got gifts (that I didnt register for at BBB) from Macy's. I don't mind it at all, but I do see people prefer Macy's over BBB.

Re: Macy's vs. BBB
We also did both, and found that registering was the most stressful part of planning so far. Everyone has a 'strategy' on getting gifts it's ridiculous. We split up the registries pretty much in half. I find BBB prices cheaper and the 20% coupons are great. You have to really know your Macy's prices because when they put things on 'sale' it's normally the regular price at BBB. Other issue is that you cannot use Macy's coupons on fine china, silverware or crystal. You have to wait for F&F (should be in May). I do see people buying off of each so it's good to have both for people to have a choice. Good luck!

Re: Macy's vs. BBB
Macy's does offer the 5% cash back of when people buy you gifts, but you have to remember what 5% actually equates to. 5% of $1000, is only $50. Do you think you will get all of that from there? And BBB does have incentives for their registries also. They have incentives for when you put certain things on the registry and for when they are purchased. I actually feel people prefer BBB. I know I do!

Re: Macy's vs. BBB
I only registered at BBB and that was because the china pattern I want is no longer sold at macy's anymore.

Also... $5 off $15 purchase or more.
BBB gives you CASH when you return anything that came off your registery. Also, if something goes on sale/clearance you can go in and they will give you the price difference! I made $13 the other day (it'll say on the registry 'clearance')
