Macys vs. Bloomingdales

I want to register at Bloomingdales because it is one of my favorite stores, but is it overpriced? My FH thinks we should register at Macy's. What does everyone think is better? Is bloomingdales really that much more expensive? Are any ladies registered at either? Please help....FH is driving me crazy! He just wants us to register so it is taken care of...but I can't decide where!

Have you considered Fortunoff's? I personally say Bloomie's if you definitely want to register at a department store...They have nicer stuff. JMO.

Ditto. We went with Fortunoff's instead of Macy's. Would have done Bloomie's - but they didn't have everything we wanted.

I am registered at Bloomingdales and Fortunoffs. I found that I could put a lot of the same stuff on there some stuff at bloomies is more expensive some is the same price then I let my guests choose where they want to shop (make sure you put a wide price range on there so that guests do not feel you have only registered for expensive things). I have found 1/2 of my guests seem to shop bloomies (mostly family) and the other 1/2 are shopping fortunoffs (mostly friends).

I personally don't care for macy's JMO but their return policys are NOT nearly as good as Bloomies policy's are.

I think it depends more on your personal style, both carry many of the same basics, and I found both have about the same selections in fine china and steamware. I like Macy's online registry, not sure if Bloomies has one.

I've always been more of a Macy's girl, I love the Cellar, and I think you get more for your money there. (I know, its for gifts, but still)
