My FH is being so annoying about engagement pictures. He REFUSES to do them! He thinks they are cheesy and doesnt want pictures of us frockling in a meadow or on a beach. I keep telling him it doesnt have to be that way. I really want to do them because 1) they come free with our package. 2) I want to get to know our photographer before our wedding day and 3) they are so nice to have!
Just had to vent. Our wedding is 6 months away so i have given up on convincing him to do them. Just bummed....

Re: Mad at FH
i didn't do e-pics and don't really regret it.
if it comes with your package and your FH isn't interested, maybe you could ask the photographer to do a b-pics shoot for you, or even a trash the dress shoot after the wedding?

Re: Mad at FH
That's a shame if you don't do them bc you guys are an adorable couple!!!! Is he into sports or anything? You could make it cute for him if u guys wear his favorite sports team jerseys and go to a baseball field or an ice skating rink

Re: Mad at FH
neither one of us ever planned on having them either but they came with the package also. after some talking and weighing out the pro's on con's we decided, mainly cause 1) like you said get to know the photographer and 2) to get used to or get a feeling of what it will be like to have our pics taken like that. My FH is such a ham for the camera but im usually the one who takes the pics so i was kinda iffy about all that attention.
you could try that playing that card, it kinda worked for me
GOOD LUCK!

Re: Mad at FH
What if you ask HIM to choose the location? I've seen awesome pictures at the bar where the couple first met, or a bowling alley, or you can do it on a run down city street, etc. It doesn't have to be frolicking in a meadow.
I HIGHLY recommend it. It was seriously the most fun FH and I had during our engagement, and it really did help us to build up a comfort level with our photographer. He also gave us a lot of tips about taking photos so now we know them for the wedding day. Also, you can have a photo for any wedding announcements and to display at the wedding site.
Also, your engagement is an exciting time, you should comemmorate it.

Re: Mad at FH
FH told me no also, but as soon as the photographer found out he was a fireman, she asked if for the engagment session we could use a firetruck, now he is all for it.....LOL
Is there a prop or something like that that you can use to bribe him?

Re: Mad at FH
My FH wasn't that excited either but I booked the appointment the other day for them in about a week & a half & I can tell he's getting excited for them. Does FH have a favorite place to go beach, park, restaurant etc.? Or does he like any types of sports & you could both wear jerseys or something? My friend had hers taken on a baseball field & the pictures came out adorable!

Re: Mad at FH
i was surprised that he is so against it cause he actully likes taking pics when we go out and stuff. The thing i tried to bribe him with was that he really LOVES the city and the skyline. So since we are getting married out east (couldnt be further away) i was like this is how we can incorporate the city and get pictures of us and the skyline. But he wasnt buying it. He does love sports but he works at citifield so there is no way i could bring him there and do it in front of all the men he works with. lol Idk im gonna give it one more shot and then i give up. Just had to vent!

Do this! FH tells me no all the time, and I just do it anyways and he eventually just joins me lol.

Thats a bummer... I think its so nice to have the pics and it really does help you become more comfortable with being photographed etc... If he is really dead set against it... maybe you can try and just do B-Pics for yourself?? Does your photog company offer B-pics?
We did our epics at home, and they look really awesome!! FH had his guitar and I had some cupcakes as props.. fun stuff!

Hey Girl,
Want me to talk to FH :)
Ken is my photographer. It's awesome to work with him prior to the wedding - esp. to get to know him, what he wants, and so you don't feel awkward prior to the wedding.
I have one E photo up on my profile page thing... it's no meadow or beach... FM me.

Re: Mad at FH
What if you ask him to do something that he likes? DH was TOTALLY not into doing e-pics but when I got us onto Citifield for our e-pics he was all about it (we tried MSG but the owner s*cks). I just incorporated sports and it was so much fun. Why not ask him if he wants to do the city or a bar scene or even playing a sport in a park? Something that appeals to his hobbies and interests.

Re: Mad at FH
I didn't want to do engagement photos either even though DH wanted to. We ended up doing trash the dress photos instead. My photographer didn't mind, actually it was her idea. I LOVE those photos now. Maybe this is an option for you? Check them out: http://www.sarakauss.com/blog/2010/08/28/erica-and-steve-cinderella-style-shoot/
