Hah i have no clue. I was thinking do I bring photos? Or just let her do her thing. I'm always nervous with this stuff...i've never really gotten my makeup done before.

Ha ha ha! I have my first one too! I figured I would just bring in pictures of what I wanted or similiar looks.
For the make-up part though... I do make-up and so I didn't know how to get the look I wanted accross to them... my plan is to do my make-up and bring cold cream with me... this way i can show them what I want done and then wash it off so they can do it. Because I do make-up I am very paticular about how I want it done. Pictures aren't as detailed as it would be to see it in real life.

As far as bringing in photos or letting her do her thing.. you can do either or. Personally whenever i do someone's make-up it's nice to be able too do whatever I want... but it's also nice to have some sort of direction. You should at least know the look you are going for.... like if you want simple and very natural... or do you want dramatic eyes? Or a smokey look. If you don't normally wear make-up it would probably be best to keep it more natural looking this way you still look like yourself.

Those of you who have never had your make-up done - it can be a fun experience - and you can have a friend watch to learn some techniques they use. If you wear contacts and you are used to things in or near your eyes.... you will have absolutely no problem! Sometimes I get people who flinch a lot or their eyes start to get watery if they aren't used to letting someone get that close to their eyes with brushes and stuff. But there are ways to get around that.

You could also just let them do their thing .... but even with that I would recommend letting them at least know the direction. Unless you trust this person 100%.

Just as a side note... that movie with Beyonce... I can't think of the name of it... that musical one with the chick from American Idol... anyway... Beyonce has really nice make-up in all of the scenes... check out some of those pics if you can find them. I watched that movie in the theatre and all I could do was stare at her eyes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe you can get some ideas from there.
