Has anyone used either of these vendors? I am looking to get photography and video package. I researched many and like the price of these. Not sure about Thomas Paul not letting you call any of the shots. Haven't heard much about Madison though. Please help - this is so stressful! :)

Between the two, I'd go with Madison Photo, imo.

You can't 'call' the shots? Like you can't give a list of 'must haves'? (with respect to him fulfilling it to the best of his ability of course)
I haven't heard much good about TP (sorry, maybe this is why) and I don't know the other at all...
I can recommend Studio 27. I met and spoke to A LOT of Vendors for both Photo and Video and I really clicked with them and they gave me a wonderful package that I'm very comfortable with.
You have to 'click' with your Vendor and it doesn't sound like you have yet. Shop around till you are 100% comfortable. These people are with you ALL day and are in your face... you have to be comfortable!

It seemed like he had his own style and that was that for the most part. Also, he said he creates your book and wasn't flexible on the format of it. Other companies seem to let you make changes. He does take amazing pictures, so I think he is just more of a 'creative mind' that you are supposed to hire and fully trust. I think if you wanted a shot or two specifically he would take them but def. not a whole list.

Thank you! I think you are right, I haven't clicked yet. I am waiting for something magical I guess! Perhaps I have a few more to visit, I will check out Studio 27, thanks! :)

Thank you everyone, this is the first time I posted and I can't believe all the responses already! I will look at Fade to Black and Studio 27. I am in Suffolk but my fiance is in Nassau so we will pretty much go anywhere! I checked out SilverFox, Proline, and ADA as well. I don't know if I'm just so nervous about making a decision that I'm being too picky! Sounds like others have been in the same boat though - nice to know I'm not alone!

I haven't heard great things about Thomas Paul either. I was going to meet with Madison Avenue, but then I met with George Speirs from Right Angle, and felt really comfortable with him. Also, I feel like Madison Avenue's website features photos that look a little dated, which I didn't like.

You are definitely not alone! I got a recommendation about studio 27 and just booked them this week. Listen to Courtz:). Franco and Steve are the best. My fiancé is not thrilled about picture taking and Franco made him feel so comfortable--like we were sitting hanging out with friends. Plus, their work is amazing. And very reasonable packages--they will definitely work with you

Re: Madison Photo Studio or Thomas Paul Photography
I saw TP and didn't care for his style... it was a little too dark and dramatic but if you want that and love it, then that's where to get it. I went with a company with a little more flexibility. I had friends use ADA and I thought their photos were super cheesy but that was many years ago and I'm sure they have many photographers so it's worth going to check out samples of their work.

Fade to black is amazing!
A bride here is using Silverfox and has all great things to say.. Proline was too pricey for me, but it depends on your budget ADA i haven't heard good things about. My friend got married 3 years ago and has yet to receive her album bc they kept messing up

If there is one decision you need to be 'too picky' about, it's your photographer! After the wedding all you'll have is the photos. Also, this photographer is going to be with you ALL DAY. It's important that you like him and trust him to keep you calm to make your day as enjoyable as possible. Thankfully, LI has a lot of choices and a lot of different price options and you have lots of support here at LIW!
