What Maggie dress are you wearing and what was your close runner-up?
I am still undecided but after going to 5 bridal shops, I really think my mind is just about made up (I kept coming back to the Maggies).
Felicity is my top contender, with Dion a close 2nd.

I am 99% going with Felicity. My seamstress is coming with me tomorrow to the bridal salon to see if she can alter the sleeves a bit for me. FeliciaDA-- which Duet photographer did you use?

I'm most likely going w/ Felicity also. May I ask what she's going to do w/ the sleeves?
Have you considered what jewelry you'll wear?

For some reason, when I tried on the sleeves, they were HUGE on me... like a short-sleeved t-shirt! I am starting to have a feeling that the sleeves weren't for the correct dress, b/c after looking at FeliciaDA's wedding pics, the sleeves look VERY different from the ones I tried on at Lilette's. Anyway, my seamstress is going to try to 'shorten' the sleeves, if you will... re-shape them so they are not as... sleevy... and are more like very thick straps.
As for jewelry, I am going to wear a VERY simple white gold diamond necklace. My mom received the necklace for her christening, and wore it to her wedding. It is very simple and elegant, and will look great with Felicity.
I feel I should also get a very simple tiara, nothing too diamond-y or bold, just simple and pretty.

We had Alberto and Sung for our wedding day photographers.. I know that Duet has different 'teams' now (they have gotten so much busier/popular since when I booked them in January '04) but I hear great things about ALL their photographers
(sorry to hijack your Maggie thread, Cindy!)
As for the issue with the sleeves on the 'Felicity' gown .. its really funny because if I had ordered the size that the salon recommended I should , I KNOW the sleeves would have been just the way you described..too 'sleeve-like' I ordered my Maggie from Netbride in a smaller size than I measured at, figuring I'd lose weight bf the wedding (which I did) and the size AND sleeves were perfect...
I think it also has to do with if you are very small boned or petite.. in which case I think the sleeves are more like 'SLEEVES' whereas I have sort of broad shoudlers/arms so the sleeves were more like 'thick straps' as you described
Personally I think the cap sleeves MAKE the dress as unique as it is, which is why I fell in love with it!
I hope you love wearing Felicity as much as I did Good Luck! (and good luck deciding on your gown, Cin!)

I am KIND OF petite (I would never dare to say skinny, but I am short and of a medium build). The dress I tried on was either a 10 or a 12, and fit me perfectly (my usual size is an 8). But yes, like you said, I have a feeling that's why the sleeves were so long on me. My seamstress is a sweetheart-- she actually offered to come to the salon with me when I try on my dress, to see what she can and can't do-- before I order it. And I agree with you-- the sleeves make the dress, so I really hope my seamstress could make them a little smaller for me. BTW... my photographer is Jay. Not sure if you've heard of him, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed, b/c his sample book was beautiful.

Well you could always post you-know-who's pics! That would be kinda fun actually! Just edit her head out!
Wow this is an old thread...but I'll play.
First choice is Monterey, and I kinda always knew it would be my dress, without ever having tried it on
But to be safe, I still went and looked for this gown that I had admired and it made my decision VERY difficult. This is Samara Lynette:
Two VERY different dresses right? It came down to this- I wanted to feel very comfortable in my dress, and Samara Lynette felt like 'too much' dress for me. Call me crazy. I was more into the details of the dress rather than the dress on me. Monterey was about ME in the dress. I still worry I made the wrong choice and that Monterey is plain.....but with my veil and everything else, I should be happy! More pics in my album, of me in the sample too.
Oh what the hey, I'll post a pic of me in the sample of Monterey (very closeup so you see the detail- the model pic doesn't do it justice):
