I was told that if I want to order a maggie sottero dress I have to order it a year before my wedding! Has anyone else been told that?

mine took about a year to come in. I ordered it last October - it came in a few weeks ago. I wasn't in a hurry for it though.
No way! I was thinking about getting the Mona Lisa Royale from Maggie Sottero and the bridal salon told me 4 - 6 months normal or they could put a rush on it and it would be here in 3 months. This was a salon on Austin Street in Forest Hills.
I ordered mine June 14th at Helen's Bridal in Commack and I called them last week and it is scheduled to be shipped out to them November 15th.... I was told it would be in Dec/Jan when I ordered it .... I think you should be ok.

I ordered mine On Aug 1st and its due to ship mid november. When i first started looking at dresses last April one of the stores i went to told me i was cutting it close and i needed to order my dress ASAP. I really think some stores are shady and just want your money. I know for a fact maggies take no more then 6 months tops( i called thier corperate office a while back). If a store tells you it takes longer, they are probably holding the order.
I recently ordered my dress, and the bridal salon has actually not ordered it yet, so that it will come in closer to my wedding date. Therefore my dress wont just be sitting in the seamstress room of the bridal salon for over 6 months. instead it will be in sometime in May - which i think is better.
I ordered my Maggie dress at RK Bridal at the end of August and they told me that it will be in by January, so that's about 4 months...
mine took 8-9 months to come in
Try asking at a different shop... I found that most of them lied that it took longer. I ordered mine like January 30th for my July wedding. It came in the end of May.
Mine was ordered from Helen's Bridal in Commack in March and came in July.
mine was a sottero and midgley dress and i ordered mine october and it came in end of june i believe.
When you order any dress they always tell them your wedding date and the order is filled as it's needed, so if you order your dress 2 years in advance it will take over a year to come in, if you order it 8 months in advance, it will only take 4-6 months. Maggies can be rushed, too, don't worry, you have plenty of time. Don't let anyone pressure you, people were freaking me out when I hadn't ordered my dress at the 9-month point and it was all for nothing.
I'm pretty sure they can rush order any dress in a few months. Mine is taking 6 months.
i ordered mine in April 2009 for my April 2010 wedding. so far its been 5 months & counting. i rather have it in early then be waiting around for it.
