I just picked out my Maggie dress. But, when they measured me they odered my size 2 sizes bigger than I am now. Are they European sizes?

The majority of formal dress sizes run this way. I have never ordered a BM dress - or my wedding dress, which was a Maggie - in my actual size. Formal dress sizes run differently than street sizes, so I wouldn't worry.

same here. they always say bigger is better so they have room to do alterations...idk, i feel 1 size bigger would have been fine tho....

In a bridal gown you are always bigger than what you normally would be

yeah, ITA. when i was in my cousin's wedding and i was only wearing a size 4 at the time, i had to order a 10 in the lazaro BM gown. gown sizes are just CRAZY!

Mine was a Maggie and it was ordered 4 sizes bigger than my 'street' size! But thats how all formal dresses run....

I think it depends on what store you go and how your measurements fall on their size scale. I wear a street size 4, and ordered my dress in a 6 because my waist measurement fell between the 4 and the 6, so she ordered the bigger size just to be sure.

Yes, Maggie Sottero dresses are cut in European Junior Sizes so no worries.

They will order a dress size based on your largest measurement...its easier to take in than it is to let out.

yup i'm a 4 and they ordered my an 8! It messes with you complex but don't worry it's only a number...

They ordered mine 2 inches shorter, a petite and a hollow-to-hem - they can't take it up from the bottom bc of the lace so they size it at the waist. I am nervous bc my measurements fell right on the 0 petite! No room for error - hopefully i will be too stressed out to eat and it will fit!!!

Ordering a bigger size is normal. It gives a little room should you god forbid- gain weight and it is also ordered bigger so the seamstress can fit the dress to perfectly fit your body. I wouldn't worry about it.
