Maiahsdad?!

Maiahsdad?!

I need your help. You are a chef, right? I need to make a chocolate cookie crust for the recipe below ... only they do not tell me how to make it - any advice? Measurements? Ingredients? Bake Time?

HELP PLEASE!

Here's the recipe ...
1/2 cup melted chocolate
1 prepared chocolate cookie crust in a 9-inch springform pan
2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup peanut butter
3 pints chocolate chocolate-chip ice cream, softened
1 cup smooth peanut butter
1 cup chopped roasted peanuts
3 pints peanut butter ice cream, softened
1/2 cup chocolate sauce
Several chocolate pieces, for garnish
Mint sprigs

Brush 1/2 cup of melted chocolate on the prepared pie shell, covering completely. Refrigerate and let set.
In an electric mixer, whip the 2 cups of whipping cream and the 1/2-cup peanut butter until whipped, set aside.

Spoon the chocolate chocolate-chip ice cream on top of the chocolate crust, forming the first layer.

Next, layer the smooth peanut butter. Sprinkle with the roasted peanuts. Spoon the peanut butter ice cream over the peanuts.

Finally spread the peanut butter whip cream on top, covering the pie completely. Refrigerate until firm.

Spoon the chocolate sauce on the bottom of the plate.

Set the 1/16-inch piece of pie in the center. Garnish with the chocolate pieces, powdered sugar, and mint sprigs.

Too late, I'm leaving at one. That's OK, maybe I'll just buy a prepared graham crust and make a smaller version of what the recipe calls for.
I cannot find any recipe on the web for this crust, it's driving me insane!
Thanks though

Okay, Jonn's gone...this is Donna again!

You can buy prepared chocolate pie crust at a grocery store but if you want homemade, here's a recipe:

1/3 cup butter
1 1/2 cup finely crushed chocolate wafers (about 25)

1. Melt butter. Add crushed wafers; toss to mix well.
2. Spread evenly into a 9-inch pie plate. Press onto bottom and sides to form a firm, even crust.
3. Chill about 1 hour or till firm.

Easy enough, right??

Hey Donna - No baking it though? I saw that recipe too but it was for a cheesecake that had to be baked afterward ... Should I mix the choc cookies & butter and then bake for 10 minutes????

Re: Maiahsdad?!

No, this recipe specifically stated DO NOT BAKE. It said if it were not chocolate (using graham crackers) then you would bake at 375 for 4-5 minutes after chilling....

Do you know what the chocolate wafers are? (Sorry if I'm underestimating you, but some people have no idea what these are!)

ETA: I got this recipe from my Better homes and garden cookbook...not online.

The chocolate wafers are the ones I use to make Icebox cake.
I think they are Nabisco, come in a yellow box with celophane wrapping.
