okay so now that i've decided to have both a maid and a matron what happens?? do i have to split the responsibility between the two? do both sign as a witness? can they share in everything?

Re: maid and matron
I had a maid and matron. They both helped each other out. Since my maid was my sister she signed our marriage license. I had both of them walk down separatley down the isle. They both sat up on the alter during the ceremony.

I have a maid and matron as well...I'm not exactly sure WHAT to do with them...I will probably have my Maid sign the certificate (since she's my cousin) and have my Matron do something else (she's my friend). I will have each walk down the aisle separately and share the arm of the BM when partners are required.

Re: maid and matron
I think the responsibility is supposed to be shared...but Im the matron for a friend and I have done virtually everything while the maid has done very little. I dont mind doing all the work but if your maid and matron are not equally suited for the task, it can seed some resentment there.
PS: Totally random butI hate being called matron

Re: maid and matron
i didn't want to call her a matron either but she is married and the other is not so i guess although my wedding is far from traditional i had to follow that rule..my maid lives upstate and my matron is here but my matron has 2 kids so i'm not sure what responsibilities i should give to either..

Wow Steph I couldn't have written this better myself. I am the matron in the SAME situation. AND I don't like matron either!

Re: maid and matron
Don't worry about calling her matron..i was just saying I dont like in general b/c it conjures up images of an old fat lady in a mu-mu. But I am married so Im definitely the matron.

Re: maid and matron
i can see the connotation but the matrons i know, you included are nothing like that..its just a title to me that means my best friend will be there standing up for me..

Re: maid and matron
I have two as well.. which is good- since my Matron is prego and will be giving birth like right before the wedding.. but I digress.
They have been sharing all the responsibitlies which really only have been planning the bachelorette party.. They both I think have emailed my mom and asked her about helping with the shower.
They are very different people, that are helping me/supporting me in different ways...
