Can anyone help me, this is my first post, we haven't really started much planning or even set a date but my mother approached me the other day saying you're sister is dying to know who you're going to have as your MOH. We plan on having a small wedding along with a small wedding party. I'm definitely going to ask my sister to be my MOH, but I also want my bestest friend to be my matron of honor rather than just a bridesmaid. I was her MOH and not that I think i owe it to her, but it's what I want. My mother is giving me a hard time about haveing a maid and a matron. How does anyone else feel about this? Help me please.

Re: Maid and Matron of Honor
In my opinion... its YOUR wedding.. There is NOTHING wrong with having both! If thats what YOU want and thats what YOU are happy with, go for it! Its not uncommon... People do it all the time... Stick to what will make you happy on your wedding day.. Its your day, your memories...

Re: Maid and Matron of Honor
my cousin had 2 moh's. a lot of parents/people pass a lot of judgments about how THEY think things should be, but the truth is it's not about them.
do what you want.

my best friend had two of us as maids of honor. I will be having her as my matron and my closest friend as maid. It's your day. xoxo, k

It is your wedding... if you want 2 then have 2. It is very common now to have more than 1 maid of honor.

Re: Maid and Matron of Honor
First welcome to LIW and second its very acceptable to have 2. I have 2 best friends and both are my Maids of Honor. Its become very common practice to do so. You have to learn now this is your wedding and only you have to be happy with your decisions.

Re: Maid and Matron of Honor
In February I was the Maid of Honor for my best friend's wedding while her sister was the Matron of Honor. If you want both, have both.

Re: Maid and Matron of Honor
it's your wedding....and u don't want to regret anything. If having ur best friend as ur matron of honor is something that means a lot to you(and not just because u think u owe her) - then do it. If u dont, i'm SURE she will understand being that you have a sister - but if it's what YOU want, then do it. like i said, u don't want to have regrets later on...there is nothing wrong with having both a maid & matron of honor.
