maid of honor and bridesmaid dresses

question... as i am trying to find a dress that 4 women can wear and then another coordinating dress for a 5th woman.. i am wondering..

should all of the dresses be the same?

should the moh dress be same color diff dress?

should moh dress be the same dress diff color?

i am NOT a fashionista and have NO ability to visualize things. in fact if it was my way, my bms' and moh would wear matching sweatsuits with a baby t underneath that said either bridesmaid or maid of honor.. so i need some help with this..

any suggesitons? input? pictures?????

I had 4 BM and 1 MOH. They all wore the same dress same color.
I have seen a lot of different styles though
Rainbow weddings (each girl wears a different color dress in the same style)
2 different shades (where half the girls wear light blue and the other half wear dark blue)
2 different colors completly (half the girls in white and the other half in black)
I have seen weddings where each girl wears the same color, but gets to pick out the style dress they want (strapless, cap sleeves, spaghetti straps, v-neck criss cross back etc)
I have seen weddings where the BM wear the same dress and the MOH wears the same dress in another color
and I have seen weddings where the BM wear the same dress and the MOH wears a different dress different color.
Lots of variety all totally normal...
AND IF YOU WANT YOUR GIRLS IN SWEAT PANTS AND HOODIES WITH BABY T-SHIRTS UNDER IT, THEN YOU SHOULD DO IT!!

what I did was I picked all the same dresses for my bridesmaids from david's bridal in lilac. then picked a victorian lilac, with reg lilac dress for the moh. so she stands out a little bit. she was so happy to be able to stand out.

I know other girls do maybe different styles but same color, or similiar colors. do whatever you want.

It really is whatever you want... I have the girls all in the same color... my MOH has a dress that is slightly different than the rest of the girls and she will have a different bouquet.

I have 4 BM and 1 MOH, I picked the color and then they all picked different dresses from the same designer that fit their personality and body(pics in my album). The MOH is wearing a slightly different color (bm are wearing navy and MOH is wearing midnight which is a little bit brighter and bluer) as well as having a bigger bouquet with an extra color as well.

But its really up to you. If you want them to match them pick somehting for all of them and maybe give the MOH a different color or have a sash in an accent color, something along thoes lines.
