Maid of Honor is denied visa

Maid of Honor is denied visa

Two weeks before the wedding maid of honor was denied visa to come to US.
She has been here million times and works for World Bank.
They said the person with the same last name ( which is very common last name) is wanted by CIA and it will take 10-15 days to clear her name.
It was not enough that they denied visa to my parents, now I have no one from my family at the wedding and no childhood friend.
I am at work and ready to cry!!!!

This is the consulate department that denied her visa.
I do not understand if they say she is wanted by CIA, why did not they arrest her on the spot? It is so clear that this is mistake.
I do not know what to do!!! Should I contact CIA in US????
I need her here!!!!!!!!!! She is going to miss Bachelorette party now.

You know, you should try to contact Sen. Chuck Schumer. I think it always helps to try your representative when you are having trouble with federal agencies, and I have read about him dealing with immigration/visa problems before. There was some big story in Newsday a few years ago when he tried to help I think someone whose husband/wife was dying of cancer and there was some kind of immigration issue. Here is his contact info. I'm sorry to hear about this. Hope you get this resolved!!!

That is a good idea. When we have trouble getting visas for overseas family we used to contact Sen. D'Amato and his office was always able to help.

That is what happened to my FI both his brothers and his aunt were denied thier visa. Not because of their last name because in his country to get a visa it is like playing the lotto. So know My FI is upset because his BM cannot come and the rest of his family.

I'm sooo sorry I guess with the hightened security and such, they aren't taking chances (same last name) & it will take time to do the checks & such on her.

I'd definitely contact. Sen. Schumer....

Good luck.
